So if the ship has a power failure, those things blink "12:00"?

LOL

And the only way to "re-set" it is to eject the video tape.

Well......

The "nozzle's" were shipped from planet Nezzbin. That's 23 light years away. They were shipped on a wednesday..... 700 year's ago.( They use "Physic Power's " to antisipate order's that havent been placed yet.) Your order was set to arrive on Friday ( which it is ....on planet Nezzbin ) The U.S. Postal Service didn't want to admit that "Extraterrestial" life exist's, so in order to hide the truth.... they put your package in your mailbox "Early"Sunday morning.... and then Ran away !

As for the clean-up, even if your careful, you will probably "Accidentally" sand off a pipe or two. If this happen's , just replace those pipe's with some wire that's the same size.

( It may be easier to just do that anyway. )

You may have something there. I thought the mail carrier looked odd.

Buddy, there you go again. Were you watching me? So far I broke three pipes. All at the same locations on each nozzle. Weak connections.

Good thinking! I like your wire suggestion, bendable. I hope that I have something close in size.

Funny you should say that. I have a few clocks blinking at me. We had a power outage today.

US Postal delivered the nozzles today. On a Sunday?

We will see more of this, actually.

Amazon Prime, with its delivery guarantees, has taken to paying enough to pay the USPS overtime for Sunday deliveries.

Interestingly, UPS and FedEx thend to only ship to closest retial outlet for residential deliveries.  If there is not a local office, they will drop the delivery onto USPS for the final, to door, delivery.

This is going to really affect the modeling community, as we are so deep into the mail order side of things.

Which brings up a thought I had late last night (probably margarita-induced).  I'm wondering why it is the various supply houses to not take up returned or strau bits and offer them as greeblie packs.

That cockpit Timmy showed above looks very sharp--any details on that?

That makes complete sence. Still... Timmy may be onto something about the aliens.

Why no,...  I can't relate at all .... this has "NEVER" happend to me ......

The minute I saw those pipe's on the Nozzle's, I knew, he's gonna break at least half of them. Not a comment on your skill's . I just have a firm grasp on the reality of trying to work with  small, brittle, resin part's .

(I make no claim of having a "Firm grasp" on reality in general...... )

Tim, I take no offense. Breaking pipes comes with the territory. You knew it, I am learning it.

Okay guys. I have a new problem not related to the nozzles. I started fitting the hatch and the flat corrugated cover at the front of the ship. The flat piece is warped and it won't lay in the hull flat unless under considerable pressure. Do you think it can be straitened out under heat? Like how we bend styrene under hot water? The other problem with it is that in one section it is too small. I am thinking I could glue styrene along the edge and shape the corrugated pattern to it. Kind of like putting a shim on it.

Any thoughts? If you need me to post a picture of the problems I can do so tomorrow.

I found two example's of Mr Mcfarlane's work here.

And here.

BTW: CapnMac82, I noticed you changed your "avatar" ... I "kinda" got use to the original one. I have a problem with "authority" figure's ( or so I'm told ) but something about your original avatar made me feel like I was suppose to listen to every word you said.

Fear ....?

No.       Awe!

He did an awesome job. Just letting you all know that I  am not shooting for that level of detail and/or skill. Not even close. Mine will hopefully be cool in its own way, but it will be nothing that good. I don't want to disappoint anyone here.

Cheers.

Thought I'd do some internet searches on this and sure enough--people say you can unwarp resin pieces using heat. I even found an old FSM thread where he used steam. I think I will try this.

Hmmm, perhaps if Timmy spent less time with aliens, his computer might run better . . .

Unless it's Jeff Goldblum attempting to hack the mothership . . .

I think I remember this scene from the TV series. In this scene the Doc is talking about a new technique called brainwashing. The ape in the video goes, "Yes, I seem to remember hearing something about that. Isn't that when you remove the brain and wash it in cool water."

I carried that line with me many a year. Classic!

Hey Tim. Something is up with this forum again. I was having trouble as well getting into the FSM site at different times of the day. About an hour ago it took almost five minutes for the page to load. My link didn't post hot and the video I just referenced is not showing. So.. don't freak out. It is not just you.

Holy Apes Batman! It worked!

Before: You'd have to press really hard on that end to keep the piece flat.

After: Perfect. I heated my teakettle on the stove until it was steaming. I held the piece (using a holder) above the steam for about 15 seconds. Then I applied pressure and it easily bent straight. Quickly, I brainwashed it in cool water to set the piece. This method is brilliant. I can see using it on styrene as well.

You can see the gap I was talking about in the bottom right corner. It does not look like much in this image but trust me--it's gaping. It has to be fixed.

On the Scale auto forum, I couldn't even get the page. Just a FULL SCREEN of "fatal error and something about 3,400,280 byte's of memory exausted, My computer ..... ALL ON IT'S OWN    "attempted " to replentish 28,000 of those byte's. ( not sure how that's done )

Oh wow, big difference!

Personally, I'd go with a little putty in the gap there, let it dry a little and then rub away the excess with a cotton swab moistened with solvent. I like Perfect Plastic Putty since you can use water but Squadron works with rubbing alcohol as a solvent too.

That "should" work, but if you find it "fighting you" you could try making your own pannel out of something like this.

https://www.walthers.com/patterned-plastic-sheet-2-pack-corrugated-metal-siding-7-1-2-x-12-quot-19-1-x-30-5cm

There are several different spacing pattern's available, I just posted this one for reference.

This one may be closer.

Hey Gam- because I like to do things the hard way. I will try gluing a shim to that section, fit it, and shape the corrugation onto the styrene piece. Then, I see applying putty over that to blend it. If that goes bad... I will do what you are saying. I want to try this first because I know with it filled in, with no pattern, it will be visually noticeable against it's mirrored design on the other side. It will stick out like a sore thumb. I will try to leave myself an out for your method, if needed.

Thanks fellow Ape Dude!

Interesting. Another idea to consider. You know what I think? I think Aliens are channeling this stuff to you. As long as you are talking with them... can you ask them how to make an antigravity generator? That would be cool.

I did that already..... Took my wife two days to get me off the celing ......smacking me with a broom.

I sold it to Evil Kinevel. He used it to jump the Snake river.... didn't work out well for him either ...
