ok, i repainted my dead insurgent. right now though i dont like the color of his "skirt" and i dont like the color of his shirt!!! i need a good color to go with the black jacket and then a good color to go with both for the skirt. was thinking a green shirt..that at least goes with black...the skirt...maybe a grayish/brown...would love to paint it white...but my white skills are less than mediocre!!! any suggestions so i can finally finish this one and post it? thanks!!

I would say that I think that a grayish/brown skirt would be very cool, and some ideas for the white shirt, take a look through Osprey's modeling Fallishmirjager figures, it has a lot of information on white uniform painting. Not to mention, as an added plus, I got my copy for only 3.95!

Hope that helps, Jim.

hmmmm....well, i will have to look into that jim thanks. i went ahead and just painted the shirt a green with a bluish tint. doesnt look bad. if i was really adventurous, i would put some kind of stripes on it but...i think i will leave it solid! the "skirt" is still the issue! but maybe by later today i will be able to post finished pics on him.

Nice, I like the way the insurgents feet are placed, makes him look very... dead. So, good job man!

very nice! need to get one of them sometime!

I cant work on one thing at a time until i paint. Other than my doi, i have 1 helicopter, 2 cars, 1 tank, 2 planes, and around 10 sets of figures going!

Looks nice to me, that first picture makes him look like he's actually not dead, but standing on a nice opera house stage singing a climactic lyric haha, but no, really, you did good on the gray, the colors don't stand out in a weird way, nicely done on this one camo, haha even if it is one figure at a time

Another good looking figure CJ!
I really can immagine him looking like the Fonz with the white shirt!

I don't like gore on figures or dios, but consider that this guy must have died of something and being in a firefight I'd exclude a heart attack, so I'd add a least a little blood maybe just some stains on the chest.

Laugh [(-D] you are also very correct with the blood thing. i had evey intention of putting some on b4 i posted the pics but in my lack of judgement in rushing to get this posted i forgot!! Big Smile [:D] ooops! i figure a nice shot to the abs. will do the trick! maybe a little blood trickling down his hand...something like that!

Oh haha no, sorry- no sarcasm on that one, the green and blue are both kind of a pastel/muted color, so even though one might not normally see that together, they both match, had the green been like a neon lime color or the blue been a dark navy, it might have looked weird, but you did a good job on some dusty looking "might have been nice back when they were new" clothes. If that makes more sense haha

sssuuuuurrrreeee chris. whatever you say!! Big Smile [:D] no i hear ya and i think like i said if i had been more adventurous i would've maybe painted some yellow stripes on the shirt or something...maybe even used some dry transfers with it saying nike or something. though that may happen with my live ones!! that's ok chris. wooo...though spelled whoo (i know im a jerk), says it all! Wink [;)] i just finished painting up 3 figures at once (the flesh). yeah, it goes against everything i have always said about figure painting...and it shows. my us guy...may have to redo that flesh paint job!!! i knew i should only paint one at a time. only problem with it is, the days are slipping by and im getting more and more behind on this!! its gonna take a couple of days for those oils to dry but in the mean time i am going to paint the clothes etc. will post soon! Smile [:)]
