Manny, you're nothing short of brilliant! That was amazing!

Never fear, Herr Feldmarschal, efforts shall be redoubled and squadrons of magnificent jets will roll back the Allied Air Gangsters once and for all... (we hope...)

At the risk of putting this crazy train back on its rails... I was flipping through Great Scale Modeling 2009 - there is a feature on a Ho at the back. (No, it's not a centerfold...)

Scale Aviation Modeller International Aug 2005 Vol 11 Issue 8 had a nice article with 4 pages of drawings showing the  interior skeletal structure, instrument panel and 1/72 3 views of the V-3-1.

Get out the paper clips and soldering iron.

Manstein's revenge

...the Revell of Germany 72nd is a  kit that is much easier to find than the Dragon one--and cheaper...

Is the Revell DE kit a re-box of the old Pioneer ( Turkish mfr ) kit?

........

Never mind...just scanned a few pages down and found the answer.

oooooo - sometimes I love google! I think I tracked down a PDF version from one of those online publication download sites. (I don't feel bad about this one, I quite often buy their mags too.)

I'm not sure of the lineage of the RoG version of that kit Goose.

From looking at my Revell kit and the photos of the Dragon kit several members have nicely posted it looks as if the 1/72nd Revell kit is a smaller copy of the Dragon one.

Dang! That blonde (yellow) cat that keeps lurking around lied to me!!!

I asked him if his accent was German. And he told me:

'Nein! Am very Swedish, ja!!!'

Riding the catnip convoy... shoulda known.

Goose, you're a fountain of pertinant knowledge, I take back all those rotten things I said about you while you were gone. That issue does indeed have a great feature on the "Tailless Teuton" done up in nightfighter dress. Beautiful, now to print the downloaded PDF on the company printer... Wink

Vance:

But you only took back the English language stuff and not the Quebecois stuff....

Did you print the colorful catnip sniffing H0-229  night fighter squadron badge on the printer or is the company printer strictly monochrome?

Gotta hand it to Manny's and his "agents"...they managed to take over the Super Bowl half time show and dubbed over the "singers" voices with their subliminal "cat shrieks"

MEOUW!!!!!

Interesting builds guys. I actually have one of the first issue Ho 229 Dragon kits.  This is back right after Dragon bought out TriMaster.  The box has Dragon stickers over the TriMaster logos.  Alas though it was packed with the blinkin canopy top dead center and it arrived split right down the middle.  ACK!

Shortly after I lost desire to build and have not touched a kit to build in 20 years.  Now I am getting into the build again.  Not in time for this GB I am afraid. (kit has been in storage for 10 years and brought it home and it is still in great shape less canopy)

I have to finish my milling machine upgrade first!  Am adding digital micrometer readouts to the X Y and Z axis for a small hobby class milling machine. (no not a Sureline, much larger and beefier)  The machine is a table top that stands about 30 inches tall with a 6 x 9 inch table and does use regular mill attachments. (though small sizes)  Almost done with the mod and looking forward to doing my first build in over 20 years.  Lots of things have changed (for the better)! Big Smile

Also thanks for the link to the Squadron Vac canopy!
