Thanks guys, other than a somewhat  off fit to the canopy the Revell kit falls together. It was fun to build something that I could improvise on.

Nicely done! Let me know how the carrier trials go so we can get these on the Zuiho asap...

Glad to see someone is working for the war effort in here...Vance is really starting to arouse some suspicion at the Reich Ministry...

Gamera, great job!!! Mine is stalled at the moment due to the usual family/work commitments, and also its 30+degC here and high humidity!!! I am so jealous of that snack, I have to see some professor on Wednesday for a stress test and echocardiogram. This is for my job, so I dont have to pay for it!!! The NSW state government are coughing up the cashStick out tongue Anyway, I will hopefully start on it this weekend, if its cooler!!!!

Traveller: Thanks and hope things turn out well. Male pattern baldness runs in my family but at least we're generally pretty healthy. Stick out tongue

Herr Field Marshal: Thanks! And go easy on Vance. I think he said he was not only building his out of wood but cutting down a tree as well. Wink

Yes, yes I am. Actually I planted a tree specifically for this project, gotta let it grow some more. Hey, is Traveller complaining that it's too hot to model today?? With the windchill it -24 celsius up here right now buddy!!!

OK, work on the engine pods from this weekend. Uhhh, I rolled my own... (note the big splotch where there are no gridlines - that's where the Tamiya cement landed last week. Still stinks!)

both rolled up nice & tight. Still not super-smooth, but there will be putty & sandpaper involved anyway. Second layer added to help with the bulge...

Now I'm layering on the putty. Once I let it dry & add more, etc, get closer to a final shape I can sand & add the inlet/outlet cones.

What kinda tree did you have to wait to grow, a Banzai tree?  Yeah, I prefer to roll my own as well...The agent---I mean cat---is watching you...with contempt.

No way, your agent bailed as soon as the smell of Tamiya putty started wafting through the living room... cats! Building up the layers so I don't get too much cracking of the putty, there will be alot there when it's done. I also want to make sure I get a good final shape here before skinning in the surface around the pods, then work out towards the wingtips. I think once I get these installed I'll be in good shape.

Good looking final product P38, congrats! That should measure up to the Feldmarschall's exacting standards. Where did you source the antennas?

Carlos.... with wind chill, I'm sitting in something like -23celsius right now, and expecting another 8-12 inches of snow on Wednesday, you smug, warm lizard you! I needed a little blast of imaginary heat over the weekend, so I was watching the 24 hours of Daytona race for comfort. Let's see them try that in the northern climes!

Well if it gets too warm for you down there, you can look out my office window:
[View:/themes/fsm/utility/Photobucket:550:0]

Ahhh I used to work downtown (Saint John) and had a great view like that. Granted, it would be friggin' cold & windy in the winter, but it still looked good!

Hmm, thought there was a better webcam set up downtown somewhere, I'll keep looking but you can have a look here: http://www.cbc.ca/nb/webcam/webcam.html
