...no...

Not right now, I'm still picking away at the -38. I should be laying paint down this weekend, meaning I can devote my focus on the wing again. You know, other than the paper version. Wink

Napkins? I hope you sprung for the good ones, the cheap ones don't seem to hold their folds very well!

Yes I agree, where are the WIP's?

Heading out west for a unknown amount of time, hopefully the Squadron order arrives before I leave. Will slap the PM kit together without details or cockpit for a template, hope to post WIP's of that at least.

Coincidence? The flight I take out west every time is #229 Erie or what?

Yeah, but it lacks that home-built look that John Denver loved so much...

Sorry to all, dropping out of this build. The Horten is no more. I have finally conceded defeat, the damage to the kit was too great for me to fix.Crying I should of looked at the instructions more carefully instead of rushing into it. I am having so much trouble building simple things, that I have even considered giving up and selling all my stuff off. Not too sure what I will do nextSad

traveller,

Heh don't give up on the hobby, take a break for a few weeks and then try a better engineered kit that is easier to build. Selling your tools & supplies will only gain 1/2 of what you paid for them if you are lucky. Best to keep the stuff and if nothing else later on give to a friend, relative.

No giving up traveller. Modelers are like salmon, they always go back to it!! I'm with Suppressionfire, take a break, maybe pick up a couple of simple kits just to keep your hand in it.Besides, if you shut down completely, Manny will track you down & pin a medal on you in person! Pirate

Sometimes I like to work on those crazy old "classic" Airfix kits. You know it's not going to fit perfectly, there will be very little cockpit detail, and the landing gear are sometimes just sticks. The bonus - some odd subjects, a small parts count & they can be found for $10 - no pressure to make a masterpiece.

Either way, I would hold onto the tools - replacing things later gets expensive buddy.

Never give up Traveller...  I see Horton's go fairly cheap on eBay all the time.

I too have problems with building even simple kits.  I had/have a Cerebral Aneurysm which they had to coil because of it's location.  The short of it is that I have a ball of metal wire of a size between that of a really large Aggie marble and a ping pong ball in my head.  It bounces around and does all sorts of bad things to me.  And when they were putting it in, i had a series of Mini Strokes which left me with shaky hands, messed up coordination,  a weak left side and a lot of pain which will never go away.

I started modeling again as a kind of therapy.  It has helped me recover some of my former coordination and dexterity.  And since I can no longer work, or do much of anything else, it keeps me from going stark raving bonkers, sitting here i an old beat up mobile home all day with nothing to do.  I refuse to let my impairment force me to stop doing something I love, no matter how bad a kit comes out, I always know that it is better than the last one (usually), even if only a little.  And it's like I am learning the skills I once had, all over again.

I don't know what makes you have problems with builds, but you can't let it beat you.  Get another kit and go for it man.  I'd be in this build too because I think the Horton is probably the coolest aircraft to come out of WWII, but I keep getting sniped on eBay lol..  Don't  quit on it, or you will be quitting on yourself.  And that's not something anyone should do.

Well said Rich,

Ditto...and don't just consider the Dragon kit---the ROG kit in 72nd scale is a much easier build and IMO has all the detail you could want in that scale...and cheaper...

Vance did not come over to help me destroy the kit, I managed it all by myselfAngry Thanks to all for those kind words, a bit of a break and relaxation, and I will see what kit i may do next. Been acting very irrational the last few weeks, I think I need a holiday from all the family and workBeer
