Guys, my Squadron flyer just came yesterday and they have the 1/72nd Revell of Germany kit on sale for $11.81. I'm not a big braille scale builder but it's less trouble than ebay. And plus shipping and handling you're going to end up with a bill of what - 15-16 bucks? I can't hardly get a good meal at a sit down resturant for less than 15 bucks anymore.

I just registered and found out that firstly you get 3 free, unfortunatly the 229 isn't a free one. and second you download them and not have to wait for them in the post. I have got the 229 and the me 109, just gotta pick two more freebies. This will give me somthing to do next time i am away or even when home on leave. I think i am going to take a handful with me. If they get ruined, i can just print another one off and start again. Thanks bud.

I dunno just got my mitts on a 1/48 Dragon 229 but..........well ummmm I dont think I could start it before mid January and no way will that me enough time for us S L O W , well slow like me anyways, to have it finished by Febuary. Any chance of going to April maybe ???

 I must say I did fail speed building 101 classes by Fermis and Kermit.

I dunno just got my mitts on a 1/48 Dragon 229 but..........well ummmm I dont think I could start it before mid January and no way will that me enough time for us S L O W , well slow like me anyways, to have it finished by Febuary. Any chance of going to April maybe ???

Me and Vance are arranging it. Look out for a post in the new year for a build starting next Octish.

So what age would 8th grade have made you. I was 12 at the time and remeber watching the daily updates on the news. Of course we didn't have news 24hours or the internet at the time.

Not a bad idea, i can take it with me and build it there. Maybe i can get a penguin to agree to take it for a test flight.

I'll do the Revell 1/72 kit, now I need to go order one.

This will be my third time there, i just got back at the start of August. Its an 18 hour trip if all goes well.

I don't think i have ever see a Falklands GB and i have a chinook with the right markings, which is good because in the UK that the type we mostly work with and are on the same base. Might be an idea for 2012 as it will be 30 years since the war.

Wow, way to make me feel old, I remember closely following the activity in the Falklands war with my friends when I was in the 8th grade. If you get a Falklands GB going for the 30th Anniversary I'll join in.

Maybe you can do a paper Ho-229 for this GB, all you need is scissors, white glue and $5.50.

Wow, the Falklands? That's quite the commute. Glare at Argentina for me will ya?  I was just reading some background on the Falklands War a few weeks back thinking it is a subject that could prompt a group build of some kind.

I am off to the Falklands at the end of Jan and not back till end of April, then i have 3 kits for 2 other GB's to do, including my own. So i can't really drop out of that one.  maybe a 229 day extension would be better.

As for clearing it with the wife, i will ask my Solicitor to ask her's if i am allowed. But she would probably want even more off me for saying yes.

Certain situations may mean asking for 2-29 day extensions, so long as it is cleared with the wife...
