Alrighty, it appears that the stars have aligned! I'm going to shoot for a 48-hour span starting (sometime) later today and ending (thesametime) on Friday afternoon. The tough part of the work week is over for me, so I think I can bang this puppy out. Wink [;)]

So, got the 1/48 Eduard "Weekend Edition" (we'll see!) La-7 to contend with. Here's what it looks like right now:

Woo hoo, im finished. Ive spent the last half an hour trying to upload my pics to Photobucket. Then i see that Fupes has just posted. That explains everything. LOL,

Mine went really well. Hasa kits go together perfectly. Along with Tamiya 109's they make modelling a good looking 109 simple. Even i can just about do it.

The main prob i had, apart from waiting for paint to dry was the crappy decals. Now i see why it was on Evil bay. Take a look at the rudder decal. Unsalvageable,

Anyway heres the finished pics. I battled with every decal. The wing crosses are in 3 pieces and the only bit that didnt fall to bits was the centre round red bit. As they were the only decals i had, i made do, and put them on the plane in seprate bits LOL.

This last pic shows the nature of the battle i had with the crosses,

Hope you like it, Ive loved this GB and cant wait for the next one.

Oh, i just looked up 'Hai Fetito', the inscription on the side of my 109. And it means 'Up Little Girl'   ........mmmmmm......Dont think we need to go there.

Guy - sheesh, I call it a night and the next thing I know your finished.... Bow [bow] The 109 is Fantastic even with a slight decal mishap, least you can paint the tail further down the road . I have not tried one of the HawseG or Tamiya 109's yet. Have some but not built them.  How many does this make in your miniature Luftwaffe now ?

Guy,

Nice job on the 109, bummer about the rudder decals.  Those crosses add just the right amount of color.  My Spit just went for the Sky on the bottom.  She'll be the only one of the three without the black on the underside.  Hope she doesn't attract any friendly AAA fire.

Guy, your 109 looks great, even with the bum decals, well done.

Guy I knew this 48 hr build would be right up your alley!  What took you so long? I am always amazed at how fast you can do a perfect splinter camo scheme! Looks awesome! I looked in my spare decals to see if I had any replacements for your bum decals. That is a bummer. I shall have to counsel your elf on how to clear coat older decals that have broken apart so they can be saved. Oh the heart ache! She looks spiffy! Not a version I have ever seen done before!

So how many you got left about another 3 or 4 before you have more 109's produced than the real AC?  Tongue [:P] Thanks for joining in! Your skills are always educational, entertaining and amazing!  Top notch! Make a Toast [#toast]

Well, stick a fork in me I'm done.  Got beat by father time.  However they finished in the next couple of days.  Here's some pics of where they stand (or sit) as of 1335 hrs.  All that's left is to apply the dk green, undercarriage and decals.

Off to pay the rent then off to the first of two jobs tonight.

Did the Sean thumb print paint testDunce [D)]  happy to report it was an accident.  The top of the fuselage behind the cockpit.  Should be able to sand it out and apply the gray bottom color.  I may yet get this done.

I decide to try the white color for a primer.

Looking good Roy... the model that is.  Definitely don't want to see you in a kilt when your excited!!!Yuck [yuck]

So, for the record we now have five people in overtime...

Roy, Nam, Smeagol, Roger and now Buddy.  Hurry up folks, the clock is ticking!!! Whistling [:-^]

We also have Dupes under way (or will be shortly) with four more lined up for this weekend.

Kim, Alex, Azgaron and Darren.

So far we have had only three MIA's unless they show up this weekend.  That is absolutely unbelievable.  The mortality rate for most GB is quite high.  Way to go everyone.  Let's keep the chatter going for those still plugging away and for those about to embark. Propeller [8-]

Wow that is a good show Dave! The overtimers all seem to have good reasons (family related for the slight delay. I mean Nam had to go bowling..... I think his crew has him duct taped in an air vent. He has been way too silent!  Smeagle is French Horning?  That is a curious instrument. Is it like a regular horn but with more tongue? Taped Shut [XX] You notice he never answered my question about the cheer;leader Gundam! I know they exist!  I'd have to say my $ is on Roy to be done by Friday! He has too! If the Wife catches him in that kilt she'll wanna play Highlander all weekend! Tongue [:P] Oh the distractions we must endure!

I'd be glad to help GA. I'll send you a PM later tonight with my proper email address (don't use the one linked to my posts)

Roy, I did a quick build of an old Revell P-40 kit with a student that was staying with us last week.  The old Revell kit was horendous but I decided I really like the lines of the P-40 and don't have one in my collection.  How are you finding the Academy kit?

Dave, I love the Academy kit.  If I have some time I post a pick of the decal options, very cool.

GA, According to the family history on dad's side.  We came from Scottland, then went to war, and our side lost, moved/escaped to Ireland and left there in the 1700's to come to America and settled in GA.  There where 2 brothers one went west, never heard from again and the other stayed in GA.Well that about somes it up for dad's side.  Did I answer your questionWink [;)]

Good to hear that it's one of their good kits roy.  Some of there earlier kits weren't the greatest.  As for decals I have the Aeromaster 72-022 sheet with a couple of P-40E's on it so I'll be using that when I ge around to it.

Roy- The P-40 is coming along nicely. Thumbs Up [tup]

dupes- Did you get started?  I am anxious for WIP pics! Tongue [:P]

Guy- I commented on yours over in A/C, sorry I missed it here.  A 1/48 Bf-109 WITH a splinter scheme, PE, and all... Bow [bow]

Well done!  Bummer about the decals.  I looked at my sheet to see if I could help, but unfortunately I robbed the blue part of the tail stripes to model my Dora "Blue 1".

Nam- How's the T-bolt coming along?  Let me know if you need me to post some pics for you. Wink [;)]

Daywalker - I indeed got started yesterday...have only until 3:30 tomorrow (aaaack!) to finish this puppy up...I petered out a bit early last night, and I think I'm already behind. Had hoped to get at least the underside painted up before I packed it in for day one because of the 2-color topside, but didn't make it that far. Going to have to get in a very productive day today!

Quick (messy) bench shot -

looking good Dupes.  I'm sure you can pull it off barring any mishaps.  Once you get the fuse together it usually goes pretty quick from there.  Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks to ALL for encouragement and noting my absence!

For all the short work-weeks we've had lately, we've been taking on work we don't usually bother with. Yesterday we began a one-day furnace change-out. 2 family house undergoing some renovations. In the days since we priced the job.....the 'carpenters' who speak little English.....layed sheetrock over all the return vents, and hardwood flooring over all the supply vents!!!!!!Confused [%-)]

Yesterday we set the new furnaces and got them all piped, wired and ducted into to existing system. Done by 6 p.m.

Then I head upstairs from the ratty basement to list what register covers we needed to buy. In 30 secoonds I knew we had a problem.....NO vents anywhere! Uh Oh!

We located the general spots for the first floor as we could see where things lead from the basement....it still took three of us until after 10 p.m. I came down to bench to check on you guys and finish decaling the T-Bolt....finished all but the prop (eyes tired).

Today we spent ALL DAY locating all the supply's and returns for the top floor....with old ducting running up inside of walls, you can imagine! Had to drill many exploratory holes in freshly painted sheet rock and tear some chunks out too.

Then drill holes in freshly sanded oak flooring.....the 'carpenters' have MUCH repairing to do, but we finally found them all.

So I'm home finally and should have final pics up in a couple hours. Sorry
