I am making it official.  I will be starting this insane in the membrian GB this afternoon.  I just have to get the wife motivaited to go grocery shopping then home and fun.  I figure I will be starting around 4 or 5pm CST.  Here is a pre-build picture.  I am amazed I took a look at the tracks and the pin marks are slight and will be covered by the running gear.  That will save a ton of time.  Good thing I bought the decal set for the Sryian markings.  I guess when I bought it off eBay it wasn't included.  Just a set for Iraqi markings.  Ohh well, I think the syrian marked vehicle will look cooler anyway.  Enough for now, off to the shower and grocery store.

Sean, you know the bonus was just the right amount...  sadly there are bills to pay etc. etc. so that won't fly with the wife.  Maybe I can keep out enough for a new set of wheels for my Trek 8500.

Dupes, I'm sorry you didn't finish on time but I totally understand the reasons. Tongue [:P]  Keep at it and post some pics when you are able.

Kim, looking forward to your build.  Lots of little track link parts

All righty more building!  Looking forward to sitting back as an observer this weekend. Go for the gusto fellows!

Guy I got that nekid message e-mail from my wife after she contracted that nasty virus! Apparently it sends them to your whole list, I spent 2 days fixing hers up after that mess. Nasty piece of work!  Looks like a valid e-mail except jnstead of You tube it is yuo tube. Beware is correct!  It is known here as the boliva virus. Ironic as the Boliva pennensula was wiped out during huricane Ike. Angry [:(!] Like to get my hands on who comes up with that stuff.

A corsair and a BMP so far so good!

Dupes! just get er done!  Ain't seen one of those in a spell but did hear they are not a simple weekend edition. Neither is the Fw-190.

My Kick off time for this GB was 4:00pm CST.  Here is what I have as of now.  The hull has been assembled or at least drying.  I will have to fill some seam gaps.  Knew this would happen.  Well off to pick up a pizza for the wife and I then after back down into my basement.

Hey looks to be going along rather well! A full 1/35 armor in just 48 hours is daunting! Looks like a Dragon kit. An older one from the thin flimsy lower box. The kit looks sound but I bet lots of cleanup on the parts to eat up your time...... I like ham and pineapple on mine since you or going... Dinner [dinner]

You guys are killing me. I love everything I have seen so far. Moose and others, tackling an armor kit over 48 hours is nuts. Hats off to you all.Thumbs Up [tup]Bow [bow]

Ain't it funny how much we all hem and haw and stick a kit back on the shelf/in the box for whatever reason but, when it becomes a 48 hour crunch, we somehow find the time to knock it out? Speaking strictley for myself, I can do one of these at least every couple of months. Find a little cheapo 1/72 or something and bang it out? What say you? In my opinion, this is too cool to do only every once in a blue moon. Maybe quarterly?

Jeff

sfcmac yes it is a old dragon kit. But surprising it had very little flash and pin marks.  So far the pin marks have not required any filling.  I will find out in the morning when I get to tackle the tracks.  The fit has been so so.  Had to fill a lot when I mated the upper and lower hulls together.  Right now I am waiting for the glue to dry.  I have a lot of parts that need to set up.  I made the sagger mount on the 73mm cannon.  The barrel is a model point one (I think).  Just finished sanding all the road wheels and will start painting in the morning.  I don't think the wife and baby would like it very much if I started now.

As for the pizza well it turned out the we had peperoni and sausage.  There is left overs, can you say breakfestDinner [dinner]Chef [C=:-)]  Well off to watch a little TV then to bed.  I should be up and at it by 8am.  Light up the compressor as soon as the wife gets up and see what I can paint as well.

Here is a couple of pictures.  I did get some more built since the pics.

I think thats a great idea. Quarterly or even bi-monthly would be great. I have lots of suitable stuff in my stash, a Hobby Boss EZ-build Mig-15, bunch of eggplanes, even some armor (with one-peice vinyl tracks.)

So hows life with the new little one?  Enjoy this time, they grow up fast, my guys already four.

Andy, Jeff, I think a regularly scheduled Weekend Gb would be a great idea as long as the interest is there.

Kim, your build is looking great, can't wait to see you tackle those indies. Shock [:O]

Azgaron, you's your corsair coming along?

Alex, Darren???

Razor - still banging away on this guy, but once I blew the deadline the urgency just isn't there. Ashamed [*^_^*] That, and I had to go out with the "other" model again last night...Whistling [:-^]

Sharp looking BMP. I think you must be mad to attempt a 1/35th armor as well, but from whst youve done so far. Top marks fella.

Pics will be forthcoming, its not worth to show right now because the way these kits fall togther, the sub assembles are odd...in a tiny bit I should have the torso and pack done. (also must be said Im getting almost 0 time to work on this with my finals next week)

wyoroy  thanks, as for my little girl thats way this build is going a little slower.  But she is worth it.

amilder  Thanks as well, a great tut for the indy tracks is by our very own doog.  Try this link

http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=1737&page=2

I am using the model master glue in the black container with the steel needle.

As for the build right now.  I just got the tracks on it and now I am waiting for drying.  Next up will be the painting.  Good thing is I don't have to weather the tracks much.  Nice thing about the Syrian version.  Not much rust.  The plan is to have the colors painted up tonight and give it a dusting of sandy yellow to weather it and blend the colors.  A couple of quick washes might also be done.  Pictures to follow latter.  Kinda have the bmp buried under weight so the tracks dry nice and straight.

Till later.
