I second that!!!  If I get my T34/85 done as soon as I plan, the L/70 Lang might get done right away too!  Did you read my post about wanting to wait until the next FSM comes out before I build the 251?...it will have a PE section/tutorial that I NEED desperately!  I may squeeze the Lang in before the Stuka if I have down time. I would sit and build all day right now if I was able...Big Smile [:D]

Here's my first wip shots. This is a mixed bag of kits, Italeri hull, Tristar running gear,Academy  tracks and a bunch of resin and photoetch thrown in for good measure. This is definitely going to test my skills, alot of removing stock parts and adding others, cutting and moving parts and removing and filling. Lots of fun. Here's where I'm at right now. The Tristar runnng gear is real nice, the suspension bumpers or whatever they're called are made from 3 parts each and they're pretty darn small parts.

Hello all.

Made a little more progress on my Nashorn. I've given it a coat of Vallejo Yellow Ochre, but I think it's too bright, think I'll put a darker coat on, what do you think?

Thanks Marc!

Mark, looking good to me, but I'm no expert! Smile [:)] I usually start with a darker tone, and then I do what I think is called cloud patterns in a lighter color, and I usually pre-shade too!

Hey dupes, could you also put me down for a jagdpanzerIV/70(A). I'm having a lot of problems with the other kit, the resin casting really stinks, warped, real brittle and poorly cast sections causing holes and deformities to be dealt with. So it may be a while before I finish the schmall turm panzer IV, if I finish it. Thanks.

I've finished up my ISU152 for the Red Storm GB. You guys should check it out. Anyway, I'm going to take a break from GB's for a bit with Tamiya's 250/3 then I'll get cracking on my IV A/O.

Good looking builds guys. Can't wait to see them complete.

A small update! I painted some white on the inside of the turret and on the gun!

Not done yet, but much of it won't show anyway!

Cheers,

Dupes,

I am going to have to back out of this GB.  My mind has not been into building at this time.  I will still finish my 251/23.

Sorry

Moose - sorry to hear about your current lack of motivation. Tell you what, I'll take you off the list for now...but don't forget that this one is running for the whole year - if you do find some time to get back in, let me know and it shall be done! Glad to hear that the /23 is still in progress. Wink [;)]Thumbs Up [tup]

MMC - your Nashorn looks fine in that shade to me - because of the scale, and depending on how much weathering you plan on doing, a lighter base coat like that is desirable.

Panzer88 - I'll put you down for the JPzIV/70(A) - assuming it's the 1/35 DML? Hope your schmallturm issues work out though, because you've got a great looking start going there!

Alright team, head over to the first page - all of the badges are COMPLETE! Cool [8D]

Everyone who's in this GB can add the first badge (Soldat) into their rotations - the later ones are only for people who finish some builds. Anyone plan on making it to Oberstabsgefreiter...? Shock [:O]

Nich badges Dupes.  I have a new goal now, 5 completed builds.  I think I'll go digging for some 1/72s next time at the LHS....

I won't be a complete weasel, I pledge that at least 2 must be in 1/35 scale.  Smile [:)]

Glamdring - glad to give you a goal! I'd say that 2 in 35, 1 in 48, and 2 in 72 would be a fine combination to hit the top rank! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Glad you guys all like the badges so much...I thought it was a pretty cool idea myself. Wink [;)]

Before the progress report...

Moose I too am sorry to here about the motivation issue. My sincerest hope is that is a good reason like playing with Caitlyn all the time and nothing that there is nothing bad in life for you.

A color question... would the inside of an H be the ivory color?  And If I have a figure standing in the open hatch... Ivory inside the copula but exterior color for the inside of the hatch itself?

I was waiting for the Gator glue to arrive... still waiting... so was going not start on the schurzen yet.   I was cleaning the molded on clamps from the barrel cleaning rods and it looked like crap. So I make new ones. then I decided to some of the others as well.  The top right thingy is to hold the spares wheels in the rack.  The wrench at the bottom is brass rod hammered flat at the end with the kit "socket" glued to the end.

I was extremely happy when the extra set of DML Magic Tracks fit the Tamiya sprocket. I had both runs all put together and was about to glue them when I realized they are from an earlier Pz IV and have the open guide horn.  Too bad since the DML tracks look nicer with the oval bit at the sides being open and not molded solid.  I am going with the rubber bands tracks but cut off the solid guide and attached them to the DML tracks for the spares.

And here is a schurzen test fit.  Jeez Louise that stuff is delicate.  I may run out of glue re-attaching this stuff all the timeSad [:(]

wingnut,i do'nt think i would have given it a second thought about using the dragon magic tracks .i believe they would have been correct. besides those magic tracks just look alot better.

Whoo hoo, just got my zim today, so I'm back to building.

Great inspiration Marc. Amazing detailing work. Will the PE schurzen hang on the kit's rails? I'm total noob when it comes to brass and I have a schurzen set too.
