WOW! Shock [:O]  That's a lot of road wheels...

Stick Man - yeah, Dragon makes a C (as does Tristar, actually). It's a "super kit", though, so you've been officially warned!

If I make a C as a secound build I'll do the Tristar kit I looked at the DML kit and one the little drawings on the back it shows that you have to glue the bolts on the drive sprokets!! if it came with the option of haveing thouse allready attached than I might go fot it.

Bish - the Dragon StuGIV is no longer in production, but they can be found quite frequently - check Ebay (I'm pretty sure that's where I got mine).

Thanks, thats sort of what i thought. I'm considering the Academy, but have no idea what their 1/35 armour kits are like, but i have plenty of time. I will leave it till mutch later as i never know what work might have in store. I don't want to commit to 3 and then get sent away for another 3 months. I will decide once my builds are under way and i have a better idea.

Whew!  Been busy this last week with holiday stuff and have had almost no time for building or forums!!Sad [:(]  Been catching up now that I've got some down time at work.....

Hey Ernest...have you given any further thought to putting that Ausf. A down as your primary kit? I'm itching to write "Tristar Pz.IV Ausf. B" right next to it if you are. Wink [;)]

Well dupes, the Coree kit hasn't arrived yet.  I'd like to take a good look at it before I decide to make it my primary kit as I've never done a full resin kit before.  Maybe I'll scream like a little girl when I open the box!!Tongue [:P]  If I feel I'm man enough to take the plunge I'll make it my primary. I hope it arrives today!!  I would like to see you do that Ausf B!

WarHammer25 - Dragon Ausf D mit 7.5cm Oooh!  That looks like a nice kit!  Didn't know they converted any Ds to the longer 75mm and added schurzen!  Can't wait to see how that bad boy looks all built up!

Cool Deal stick man!!  I was thinking of changing my Tristar D build to a C (either my Dragon or buying a Tristar) since no one had picked that for their build.  Looks like we have most of the major Ausfuhrungs covered except for maybe an F1??  Didn't NucMedTech sign up with a Dragon E?

Wing_nut - That's a LOT of roadwheels!!!Shock [:O]Laugh [(-D]  BTW, has anyone come up with a badge(s) yet?

This is going to be a really great GB!!!Thumbs Up [tup]Approve [^]

Isn't there a pic out there of a German soldier with a spray gun painting road wheels?  I remember seeing a video of one painting his tank, but I could have swore that I saw one of a soldier painting wheels.

If you look closely, it is the VK3001 Panzer VI Tiger prototype. Not a Panzer IV.

DARN!!  My eyes lit up when stick man said that Trumpeter was making a Pz IV Ausf A!!Disapprove [V]  Still the VK3001 looks like a really cool kit....the first design of what would eventually be the Tiger tank!Wow!! [wow]

Kind of makes you wonder though....a mfg would make a kit of a prototype of which there was only 1 or 2 made, yet no one will make a kit of the first prod. design of the most produced German tank of WWII, by most regards a very successful vehicleQuestion [?]Question [?]Question [?]Question [?]   A total of 35 Ausf A were built, many seeing action in different theatres....is it because they look so much like the B, C & D?  But what about the H and J??  It can be hard to tell the difference between them yet there are 2-3 kits of both on the market.

Oh well, it doesn't matter!  I luv all the Pz IVs!!  If and when Tristar or Dragon or whoever decides to make an Ausf A kit, it will definitely be on my "to buy" list!!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

*EDIT*

BTW...the Coree kit STILL hasn't arrived yet!!Angry [:(!]   The wait is KILLING me!!Dead [xx(]

Kind of got my hopes up as well. It does make you wonder why these companies are releasing some odd-ball models. I mean Dragon makes an E-100, Maus, and some others while Trumpeter is making such things like the Sturer Emil, E-100, E-10, E-25, and that huge 17cm Tiger howitzer. They both are making a Dicker Max which is good for this build, but only two were produced. Why not the first variant of a very successful tank. I mean, companies are making the very early M4 Shermans, even the ones before the A1. But no Pz. IV Ausf A. Makes you wonder a little.

Hey s.a.r.! Thanks for the interesting article!  Somehow I missed that one on track-link.  It is pretty old though, says 1997 on bottom of the article (wow! over 10 yrs old!).  I've never heard of Armour Research Company and nothing shows up when I Google it.Confused [%-)]  Too bad, I wouldn't mind trying a conversion like that, especially with the old Tamiya Ausf D!

Fortunately I've got that Coree Ausf A coming in the mail......sometime.Grumpy [|(]

My Brummbar that I won off of Ebay arrived today!  Great deal as I got the Aber PE set and Cavalier Zim included, all for $28.99.  I can't believe I was the only bidder....

Now I have quite a hard choice, that or the Dicker Max!  Depending on the time frame maybe both.....

Cool deal Glamdring!  That's a sweet price for all the goodies you won!!  Personally, I'd go with the Brummbar.  I think that's the reason you were the only bidder...it's destined for this GB!!Big Smile [:D]

WarHammer, why did you go with Great Models instead of Dragon USA?  Wouldn't it be cheaper and quicker?

Well, the Coree Pz IV Ausf A that I won on Ebay STILL has not arrived.  According to the email that I received on 11/21 it shipped that day via USPS Priority Mail (2-3 day delivery).  So that means its been in transit for 10 days. Confused [%-)]  Should I be worried?   I shot an email to the seller to confirm that the item shipped and how it shipped.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it turns up soon.  I wouldn't mind the loss of $87 as much as the loss of a difficult to find Out Of Production kit that we needed for this GB!!!Boohoo [BH]

It was actually 40 cents cheaper on Great Models. I know it isn't much but I needed some other things from them too. They are both on pre-order right now on both sites. I just hope it gets here before Christmas. I also just ordered a Dragon Dicker Max so it looks like I will be building at least two and finishing one( my Ausf.J for my last build) for this GB.

bufflehead,

Were you provided with a tracking number? That could be a help. You might also want to contact USPS. It would probably be a pain in the Censored [censored] but you might be able to find out were your kit is. Hopefully it is just the holiday mail slowing it down.

Warhammer, strange how GM can sell lower than Dragon.  But what the hey, if they can do it more power to them!  I buy from GM a lot...they're a great online store!

So I got an email from the Ausf A seller telling me that it DID ship on 11/21, but to the WRONG address.  He has contacted that person who is returning the kit to the seller and he will reship to me immediately. WHEW!!  I was worried that someone might have snagged the package from the porch when no one was looking!  So hopefully in a couple more weeks the Ausf A will arrive!  At first I did think it was holiday mail, but after 10 days I had a strong feeling it was more than that!!

Well, let us know when that special D arrives!  It looks like a very interesting version!

hey stick man!  What book is this that you bought?  Is it the Squadron Signal book?  I don't recall any measurements in that book.  Mine is buried under tons of references books and the "Stash"!  Ok, really only about 20 or so books...but there's a lot of magazines too!!Whistling [:-^]

Yep the squodren signal one.

It has 1/76th scale drawings with a litle bar undernithat that you can use to mesher most parts of the extiriore of the tanks.

That is good that your A didn't disappear. Hopefully it won't be delayed any further.

Will do on when my special Ausf. D arrives. I just hope before Christmas because I wanted it to be my first build.

I think the Brummbar was destined for this GB, Dupes can you put me down for it please?

1/35 Dragon #6081 Brummbar Late and throw the 1/72 Hasegawa Jagdpanzer IV L48 for good measure as well.
