 Hey all, checking in.

WOW! Great looking DVIII Scotty, very nice paint work and finish. Looking forward to seeing the SPAD, specially in 1/72 scale.

Stephen, great post. Sorry to read you missed out on the chance to be a ground crew member. Bet that would've been an adventure to remember. Great work on the DH2, the cut-away view of the wing is awesome. Very cool stuff. Looking forward to seeing progress as well. Really amazing and inspiring stuff your doing. Thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge with us in the GB.

Looking great Stephen, I really like the cut-away section of the upper wing. Very cool, and the workmanship is exceptional.

I love the bumble bee stripes on the Fokker. Make a Toast [#toast]

I finally got some time to get back to my DVII.

Hi Aaron - I would re-check the mounting points on your Fokker's undercarriage - the front most undercarriage struts should line up with the forward most wing attachment strut where it joins the nose.

Curses, it looks like I reversed the struts. Censored [censored]

Thanks for catching that, I think I can fix it without too much misery (I hope  Dead [xx(] )

Aaron- Were you able to fix those struts without too much fuss?  I certainly hope so. Thumbs Up [tup]

Stephen- Those little 'buckles really add a lot to the rigging.  Really, really nice work there. Approve [^]

Well one of them broke, but yes I did get them put on right. I've got the decals on and should be posting some pics later.

You guys going to have a Knights of the Sky III GB? I've never build a biplane before and wouldn't mind getting in on the next one. Looking over the builds here, all kinds of beautiful work!

John,

Thanks for the interest!  At this time, I am not planning on hosting a KOTS II GB. Perhaps someone else will pick up the torch and host another WWI-theme Gb in the future. Smile [:)]

Sorry to hijack, and I hope I'm not breaking any rules here, but this thread just seems like the most obvious place to ask -

The work I've seen here has been outstanding and so inspiring that I'm going to have a go at a few WWI kites myself! My question is, does anyone know where I can get MisterKit paints in the UK? Aero-club is the only link I've found but they don't have anything in stock.

Thanks and sorry for the OT

 hi,

i think you'll have problems finding it in the uk if aeroclub hasn't got any,and the last time i ordered from them some it took 2-3 months for the whole order to turn up!

you could also try ordering direct from italy.

to be honest i would try and find alternatives as the colours are made by other people.....just under different names..............i have a whole load of the misterkit paints but i'm matching them to my preffered vallejo model air paints.

PM me if you want to know what colours i have or for more info.

Struggling with the the rigging here.  It is just taking a long time. So far I have 22 of 62 strands done.  Having two family members in the hospital has distracted me from progressing faster.  Life intervenes

Nice finish on the DVII, Aaronw. Very nice paint work. The painting of the lozenge fabric came out very well. Thanks for posting.

Steven, sorry to hear about the family. Hope it's not anything too serious and both of your family members get well soon. Looking forward to seeing progress on the DH2. Spectacular job on the rigging.

Stephen,

I hope your family members are OK, and feel better soon!  That must be a lot of stress on you right now.  I hope things get back to normal soon for you and yours.

Thanks Frank.

I don't think this will be finished by the end date.  But I'll keep plugging away.  I post images when finished.  You know me can't bear to leave one undone.

Man, that's a lot of rigging in such a small space.  Don't know how you do it Stephen.  Don't worry about the end date, take care of your family.  We'll be here when you get back.

Alas I got no further with the Aeroclub RE8, and this is as far as I got with the Roden 1/48 SE5a:

To echo Bob, it has been a pleasure, gentlemen!

Greetings fellow KotsII-ers.

Its official The DH 2 is still many weeks from being finished.  But there are others I finished during the GB.  So no worries.  I will post images of the DH 2 when done.  In the mean time your kind words, thoughts and prayers have done some righteous good.  My wife's elderly mother (Alzheimer's) has come through her crisis (upper respiratory infection) well.  We have her back home on oxygen but she's much better healthwise.  My young second cousin was in a head-on crash.  (Their car was forced off the road) and they hit a telephone pole then an embankment.  Her driver is in a coma and has a broken back.  My cousin has severe head trauma.  Nerve damage and can't walk.(Mother of 2 children).   She is speaking, knows her mother (my cousin) and her children.  As of yesterday she was talking.

Tell your family that you love them.  Life is short and in the blink of an eye things change.  Model on good folk!  I'll be outbound at Angels 5.
