Roy - I read elsewhere that you were wanting snow. We are getting hit with wet and heavy stuff right now. Most likely will take our power out as the trees are already loaded. I shoveled off my Carport today (my truck with my Bikes are parked under it Shock [:O]) and the depth was 25 " .  My kids were not very happy as I shoveled it all off where we keep the Trash can. So they had to go dig it out so they could do their chores after dinner.  I have a snow barricade at the end of my drive to block some of the throwback from the plow trucks. ( I will dig it out when we need to go somewhere)  My Daughter and I were talking of pulling off all the icicle's off the house and sticking them in points up like a Tank Trap to detour people away Laugh [(-D]  Evil [}:)]

Snow Those two small gold dots at the bottom of the window is our Cat looking at me. Most likely thinking I have lost my mind to be out in that stuff.

Stephen, I just read your winter camo tutorial, WOW.  That's a lot to take in.

...and it's only about 80% done!!!  I know, it's a lot of info, but I hope it's easy to follow and helpful.

Perhaps you could help with this.  My P-40 is OD over neutral gray.  I want to highlight the panel lines and was thinking of black.  Would that be too much?  Perhaps a dark gray?

With OD, definately use a black oil wash, but keep it thin..better to add than have to remove.

Thanks Summit!!!  Actually burned the 1:00 AM oils one night!  There's plenty of snow at my house, but this baby stayed inside the whole time...Laugh [(-D]

Nothing else collecting dust!  My next build will be a T34/85...I plan to document the weathering pretty thoroughly, see my new thread, it will be up soon.  No snow on that one, but it should be a fun build!

I'm removing the wash I put on the P-40.  I didn't like the look of it.  My next try will be a black oil wash to the OD.  I'm thinking that it be look better.

SMJ, by all means sir.  I'm trying what you suggested and will use an oil wask black on the OD color.  I do have a small problem.  Some of the old wash doesn't want to come off.  I have some other things to try perhaps they will remove what's left.

Thank you Sean.  I turned 47 on the 30th.  Not sure if that's good or bad.  I haven't worked on my P-40 in the last few days.  Need to get some progress done.  We have company over tonight.  My wife has fondue on the menu.  Four adults and four kids.  I should be ready for bed by 10:00Wink [;)]  but will have to stay up till a few past midnight.

Thanks again.

Sorry it was late - but better then not,  right !

New Years Celebrations - Make a Toast [#toast] My Wife and I did that once when we were first married, well 9 months later Whistling [:-^] we had a new baby. Still not sure how that happened Laugh [(-D]  So we kind of opt out anyway , plus neither of us Drink to attend most parties we get invited to.

We will stay up and play "Mountaineering Monopoly" with the kids !

I remember being stranded at Flying J New Years 1999 - was not much fun.

The most in the way of drinking will be a bottle of wine.  I always have unsweetened ice tea.

Happy New Years everyone.  I made it back last night from my travels.  We weren't supposed to come back until later today but the weather forecast for today was for more snow so we decided to come home early.  That meant no parties for us on new years eve though.

That would be funny if I hadn't spent the last two hours shoveling snow Grumpy [|(] and it's still snowing out there! Grumpy [|(] Wink [;)]

Got your card in the mail (thank you Thumbs Up [tup]) so my package should be there soon!  I think!
