You know Graham sounds like a good guy.  I just found out that he's only 14 and here I was thinking he was our age.  Plus I love his VW diorama.

Oh, you are just so kind! It brings a warm feeling to my heart...Smile [:)]

Thanks guys for your comments.  Much appreciated.

Roy, I usually turn the air pressure up a notch (25psi) and close the nozzle until barely anything comes out.  This gets a little touchy as the tip gets clogged up now and then and I have to open it up and blow it out once in awhile depending on the type of paint I'm using.  Using brand name thinners with retardants is crucial with acrylics.  The higher pressure helps to prevent thetip dry on the nozzle and keeps it from clogging as much.  HTH.

Put the mystery machine down as the 1/72 Heller MS 406.  Given all the other Heller kits that came with the batch it is most likely that one.

I've got a 1/72 jeep from the academy ground vehicles set that I want to bang out before Christmas.  I'll be gone for part of the holidays so won't be much bench time.  After that I've got a Revell of Germany Hurricane Mk IIB and a Tamiya 1/72 Corsair.  I also have to see what my secret santa brought and the In my stash vote is coming up.

Roy - Very Nice Thumbs Up [tup] What a Fantastic Gift and to get it early. You are very fortunate to have such a Wonderful Family.

I can honestly say that is a very nice booth and you will like it ...

Just to shake things up around here I cut a hole in the side of the House Thanksgiving morning (why do something when the hardware store is open) just to shake things up in our neighborhood..

Everything went smooth (missed the studs) and I don't have to use the window anymore.

VentMy bench only looks this clean for photos..Wink [;)]

When is your Birthday ?

Thanks SeanMake a Toast [#toast]  My birthday happens to be the same as my dad, 30 December.  I like the way your bench looks and the paint rack is great.  We were redoing our basement but it has been put on hold till this spring.  I get a corner of it for my hobby bench.  Funny thing is, mine will most likely look like your's 'L' shapedBig Smile [:D]  I also plan to do a paint rack much like your's also.  Right now I'm using the extra bedroom but space is tight.  I will have to vent the booth out the window for nowWink [;)]

BTW I think that I'm a very luck man to have a wondeful family as I'm sure we all do.

Dave & Sean, could you guys PM me your mailing address?

Roy,

Nice looking paint booth, will have to get one eventually.  Might just build one myself if it is cheaper.

Summit, great looking bench, wish that I had that much space, but I am pretty limited on the space side.  Will be doing something about that soon though I think.

My Ka-50 Hokum is finished!!! Sitting on the top shelf now.  Not sure which one I will be moving on to next.  I'll try to post some pics later on.

Matt

Roy - I noticed on the list you had me listed for a P-51b, it should be a D.  Other than that all looks well.

Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur!!! - Anything said in Latin sounds profound!

Heh, at least you can use yours when others are around! My mom hardly ever lets me spray in the booth. She does have asthema but I'm using acrylics! But the booth I have is nice... Pretty soon, you'll have to have an industrial grade fan pulling fumes out the window!

It has one on the back you just can't see it. Thats cool Roy. I scrounged around at Ace and found some sheet metal accesories to adapt a piece of flexible dryer vent duct to, then installed one of those flap outlets in the side of the shop wall. He** with the neighbors, right! "Hmm must be Alclad night over at Bill's".

After I used up the filters that came with it I've been buying filter fabric in big sheets cheap and cutting out what I need.

Ahoy! I am almost semi functional today. Was a really bad bout with the  medicine. Apparently I had a very bad reaction and it threw me for a loop. Still shaky but have to at least attempt to make good on my promise of 1 per week.  I guess the status quo is to post a before pic so here it is, The oldest unfinished build in my home.

The Lindberg HMS Hood and it has looked like this since 1977-78 school year when I got it at a slot racing car shop!  Dug out 90% of the parts and have them in a zip bag. The rest will be either from the spares box or scatched.  Nothing fancy intended as I have the new Trumpeter release but for nostalgia I think it needs to be finished. 30 plus years is long enough to wait.

Graham, here's the back of it:

Here's my 1/48 P-40.  Found out that these markings are for a training unit at Napier Field, Alabama 1943:

I have some paper that will line the inside of the booth.  Not ready to paint the inside yetWink [;)]

Thanks Roy. Sad to say It seems I have been checking my mail but seriously can't remember anything about what I read. I hope I behaved myself.   My son said I was cursing up a storm in my sleep reliving something or other. Shock [:O] Think it scared him and he is glad to see me up and about again.  Still shaky from not eating probably but a couple shots of ye old gator-aid and a few slim fast shakes has me at least coherent again. Well as well as can be expected with me at least. I just hope I didn't ask Bondo out on a date...Blindfold [X-)]Whistling [:-^]
