Dave -  Whew , you had me all stressed out there...Stuff like like drives me Crazy when that happens. Glad you were able to get them back in place . As for the Dust forget about it, dont tempt fate - besides I am a firm beliver in the "Four Foot Rule"

Roy - let SMJ in, as I see it this GB is about getting them done ! Besides wern't Rules made to be Broken... Good thing my kids dont have access to this Forum..Whistling [:-^]

Aaronw- That resin pit is really going to Spiff up that Helo. Any other little tricks you got up your sleeve planned for that Helo ?

Thanks guys for the comments on the Bearcat.  Just a little History on this kit, it is Manufactured by HAWK - 40 pieces was my count including weapons. The instructions are dated 1967 almost as old as I... The Kit has held up better though..Right now she is decorated, the canopy has been masked, painted and in drying mode. I really need to get to town and stock up on "Dull Coat"   I have another kit just like this but this one is "Chrome Plated" for that NMF look.. Have I mentioned I really like these old forgotten and neglected kits by todays standards.  I feel like every time I build one I have turned back the clock. Besides working with  decals over 20 + yrs really prevents Boredom..Laugh [(-D]

It's a done deal.  SMJ, give me the details of you build and get started, unless you have something else to do firstWink [;)]  I happy you guys decided to let him play.  I didn't want to say yes and then have someone cry that the rules don't allow it.  I aggree, rules should be flexable when need.

Again SMJ I would like to welcome you to our No More Excues GB.

All Dressed up ready for the shelf, actually I think I will take and fab a antenna first. Other then attaching the canopy and  a coat of "Dull Coat" to seal the decals.

Alright guys, here's my desk cleaned off and ready to go.  Here's some pictures of my Mauve 1/48 P-40N.  I need to repair the gunsight, add the nav lights, reattach the canopy and touch up a few spots.  I notice that some have the decals have a bit of silvering.  I'll see what I can do about that.

Wow ~wee  Roy  that P-40 is a looker. Here all this time I was thinking it was 1/72 also... Makes me feel better it is 1/48 with all that detail in the pit.  Silvering seems more intense under light when there is a camera for some reason. I turn my lights off when I get my camera out and let that infra~red beam do its thing. Laugh [(-D]

That desk is too clean, that time spent cleaning you could have been working on you kits Wink [;)]

Thank you on  the Bearcat Smile [:)] Do I get a Prize Propeller [8-]

1/72 Academy B-24H
1/48 Hobbycraft P-26 Peashooter
1/48 Hobbycraft P-26C Peashooter
1/48 Hobbycraft P-35
1/48 Hobbycraft P-36A/C

There, now I feel better...not just my measly 3 builds...Wink [;)]

Cheers,
Alex

Next up for the NME is a Hobbicraft/HawseG - 1/32 Fieseler Storch.I shelved this one because I never could make up my mind on how to attach the wings (type of cement) It has very nice engine Detail of which most is hidden.

Storch 1 The canopy was my first experience using "Frisket Film" to mask with. Yep I use it all the time now.

Storch 2Most of all the structures are assembled, they just all need to be attached . Once I do that I will have to order up a can of paint.

Storch 3

Alex, I updated your list on the roster.

Sean, the Storch will look great when it's finished.  Is there more to the paint scheme?

Been working on the P-40N.  There are a few wrinkles in the decals.  I applied them back in 1997 and it seems that nothing will fix them short of replacements.  Can you tell from the pictures?  I'm going to try some stuff I learned from an article titled "Patching an Olive-Drab Finish" I downloaded from the FSM website.  Then I will highlight the panel lines and try some exhaust stains.  This will all be a first for me.

Roy, I love the nose art on that P-40.  Looking forward to seeing it done.

Sean, that Bearcat looks awesome considering the age of the kit.  Just goes to show what good construction skills and a great paint job can do.  That Fieseler looks like a challenge.

Alex, if I added all the unfinished kits that were given to me it would take a couple of years to finish this GB. Shock [:O]

Dave, thanks.  go ahead and add the unfinished kits given to you.  If you get to them good if not nothing lost.  Who knows, perhaps by listing them you may decide to try and finish one.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

The same. I didn't have time to do any work yesterday. I forgot that I had baseball practice (yes! already!) so every other moment was filled with trying to get my algebra (Yuck [yuck]) done. Tonight, I hope to pour the resin but yet another wave of algebra/grammar is closing in. I also airbrushed the body of an atom for science so while I had it out, I was gonna lay some paint on my 1/72nd Tiger 1. By the way, This is for SMJ Modeler, Can I join Big Cats? I asked on the thread and I PMed you. You never got back to me. Anyway, I'll try to get some snapshots of the resin-pouring. Well, hey, this is for procrastinators...Whistling [:-^]

Oh, by the way Wyoroy, could you add to my list a dio of the Alamo? I started after I visited the Alamo but painting all those 1/72 mexicans really got to me. I have the wall and a little chapel thingy where Jim Bowie is. Thanks.

Roy - Thanks Smile [:)]  It will be the Desert Camo ~Tan with Black Squigly things all over it  (hopefully)

Dave -  The Bearcat was a really great kit, It would have been perfect for the Weekend GB, except I had already started it. Thank you for the comment . Dave maybe I should send Roy the info on the "Frozen Hog" Laugh [(-D]

Graham  - Thanks , the Fiesler instantly became my favorite back in High School when I was studying Rommel. I figured it must of been a pretty cool bird if he flew around in one.  Then they flew one in to rescue Mussolini.  My favorite "Modern" day aircraft is a DeHavilland Beaver. Guess I like those planes that dont require a big take off or landing zone.

Harv - I have no doubt that your "Bearcat" will be fantastic as there is a lot of detail packed in those monster 1/32 kits. Im glad you liked it and commented on it.

How is Bev getting along ? Hope she is keeping you in line.

Here is my latest update, I fretted about the wings long enough. Grabbed the bottle if "Gap Filling CA" and stuck them on. I could of used a few more sets of hands (or a tail like a chimp) to help the process.  I am happy, the wing tips are only 1/2 mm difference from each other.

Storch 4 I really did kind of clean off the bench, just not as good as Roy. I hid all the clutter in the Spray~Booth Propeller [8-]

Storch 5

Everything lined up the way it should have Thumbs Up [tup]

Storch 6 Harv - Where do you display all your 1/32 Builds ?

Bev is doing just great, thank you. I`ll tell her you said HI.

Roy, I'm going against my better judgement here but here's the list of other shelf queens that I inherited.  Most of thes, especially the luft 46 ones don't have canopies so I'm going to have to carve and vacuform new ones. Yuck [yuck]

Dave, that is screaming to me MS. 406...I have no idea who kitted it though...

It looks like in 1/72, that Heller had one that Smer repopped and Hasegawa had one.

HTH!

Alex

Thanks Aaron.  You win the golden bannana.  Except Alex is correct, it's 1/72 scale and I beleive the manufacturer is Heller.  There is no canopy with this one either... or instructions... or decals!  Sad [:(] Banged Head [banghead]

Was the kit a Bear to build , or was the paint job making you crazy. Anyway Im glad to see the finished version, makes me think I need one of those markings. Whats in line next for the bench ?

Give me the final say on ethe last kit you psoted.  I have it as a Hobbycraft French fighter.
