Well, here are the finished pics as promised. As you go through them, I'll explain the stuff.
This one is just a basic overview of the dio.
This is the splash,
And a view of the front. Note: the antennas are a type of fishing bobber. (see first pic) It has this cool spring mount that looks awesome! If anyone wants the name of these things, I'll dig out the package from my basement.
Since I wanted the base to have some interest, I stole the rim from (If memory serves) an American Graffitti Duce Coupe. It was an option so no models wer harmed in the making of this project! The deflated and wrecked tire is tin foil glued to the rim (you can even see the silver in some places. Gotta touch it up.)
The skull and crossbones were stock from the kit (hey, Bondoman, they might go nice with your avatar...) but the numbers were pulled off of a 1/72nd Hasegawa Jagpanther kit. Since I used flat Racing orange paint for the body, the decals silvered really bad. Plus, This was a while ago so I didn't have Solvaset. (This project is what made me buy the stuff.)
Next, a picture where you can really see how it looks airborne!
Now, both of these and the one after are of the interior. I made a net for the driver's window out of screen for screen doors. The belts are lead foil. I even had an AMS moment and put a little key chain in there. But, Who's driving? The phantom driver is here! I couldn't find and 1/25th drivers so I let is be.
This is of the right rear wheel. I weathered it with a raw umber(I think) oil wash so as to tone down all that chrome!
(I believe I can, FLYYYYYYY!!!!!! (hehe, sorry) A view of the flying back end. Included, picture of dust mask in background! My basement is really cluttered...
Now, 2 pics of a scratchbuilt sign. I used a sign decal from the kit, but then applied it to a piece of stryene. I used a piece of frame from a snap GraveDigger monster truck kit I broke when I was little and, "vrooming!" it over some toy cars! I made a "sticker" using Microsoft Word applied to the front of it saying, "Tri-Baja 350". Got the title from a video game, "4x4 Evo 2". Why I picked that? I'll never know. I then used the airbrush tool on my computer to apply brown "mud" to the "sticker".
Here is a really good shot of the wave. In the foreground, you can see a little bit of white which is superglue where the sign's post broke.
And another good pic of "the wave".
Finally, the front. Untill now, I havn't noticed that the right front wheel is off-center. The jump must have really taken a toll on the suspension...
Well, there it is! Questions and/or comments are most appreciated! To finish, touch up weathering, add more water/mud, touch up paint chips, add antenna, and fix that annoying bead of superglue on the sign!

(Yay! My first GB badge! Now I really have to clutter up my signature with more... I don't think I'll ever match Dupes though!)
