I like the idea of this group build, and since I have been away from my workbench for 16+ months due to real life getting in the way, anything that I have started fits into the rules. Count me in!! I'll have to get back in the workroom and figure out what all I have in the in progress pile. I know for sure though that I have the following: Hasa 1/48th MiG-25, RoG Me-110 (1/48), RoG B-737-800 (1/144?), and a Hasa F-18F (1/72).

This might just be the kick in the behind that I need to finish at least one of these kits.

Matt

My idea Matt is if I can just get one or two finished then this GB was worth itBig Smile [:D]

Roy, please add me to the list.  Potential projects are:

1/25 scale Revell Firebird Funnycar-body painted but the decals cracked-needs repainted and the rest of the kit painted and assembled.

1/48 Eduard Albatross -not sure which version-started for the Knights of the Sky I-interior painted.

1/35 Tamiya Marder III M-hull assembled.

Not sure which one I'll tackle first.....I have to get some other projects out of the way before I can start this one.......Whistling [:-^]

btw-This is a great idea for a GB

Thanks

WOW, there are 16 of us on the list at this point.  Perhaps it's time we decide on the GB badge, if we can find the timeWink [;)]

So whats the story of these kits?  Was it paint, missing parts, life or bored with it?

Most of my kits I should of finished up last Spring, but my Hobby Room had this Old (I mean really old) tounge and groove floor. I had lost enough parts down through the cracks to build a small Luftwaffe. I got fed up with the splinters, lost parts and Year round cold air blowing up through . I packed every thing up and remodeled. New floor with office carpet and fresh paint - after that new bench, bookcases and even recently vented the spraybooth out the wall.  Most of my kits are pretty close to being done - just minor painting , landing gear needing to be attached, decals - that kind of stuff.

Some of these came to a screeching halt as I needed a certain paint color to continue the way I wanted too. (local hobby store is 190 miles round~trip) Just the little thing that got them set aside.

The worse part has been tring to find sub assemblys I hid away that would not fit in the boxes they came in.

The old relic Huey was built with tube glue and brush painted, not bad but not great . But I want to finish it..    The Corvette - most likely will go to ebay as I never really liked vettes..Yuck [yuck]  Or maybe my son can finish it off ?

My story is close to yours and others.  Most of the unfinished kits I started back in 1996.  Because of moving from Wyoming to California, Wyoming, Florida and now back in Wyoming (for good).  Then there's the hobby room.  Right now it's an extra bedroom.  We have plans to finish the basement but that has been put on hold till next year.  The decal issue or I don't have the right paint to do it the way I want.  The best is, I start a new kit (which is exciting) and the old one gets pushed aside.

Renovations have been part of my excuse for unfinished kits but my real problem is that I'm addicted to GB's.  In the past I've overcommitted to Gb's that I had no realistic chance of finishing.  I would get a build partially finished, miss the deadline and then think oh well, on to the next GB. Blush [:I]

Is this where I say my name is Dave and I'm addicited to Styrene?

Sean, which He 111 kit are you using and when are you going to start working on the Bv 141? Propeller [8-]Propeller [8-]Propeller [8-]

The figure looks good other than it looks like the pilot has been starved half to death (a little on the thin side).  Could use a wash and a dry brushing though to give him a little life. Thumbs Up [tup]

Graham,

Best advice I can give is try and plan what you will do ahead of time and just take it one sub assembly at a time. It seems to help me a little if I just take baby steps on a build. I personally love doing 'pits. It's after those are done and the fusalage assembled and wings attached that I seem to hit the wall. Even if it's just painting parts still on the sprue like attenas, machine guns, landing gear, etc At least you are getting something done and even if they sit like that for awhile, you won't be getting stymied by all those little parts that we all put off doing towards the end of a build(I have learned this the hard way...) I can go on and on but I think you get the point. Also, if I'm justnot "feeling it" that night, I find something else to do.

Regards,

Jeff

Thanks for the tips. Yup! Gotta love cockpits! I hate filling, sanding, and the cleaning up stuff. Just a quick question, should I put pics on here when the thing is done? Or should I, "WIP" it? Thanks much!

Hey Roy, I just realized that I started my Morris Quad and 25 pdr earlier this year so it doesn't qualify.  Could you take it off the list please.

Also, I just remembered that I have another build that has been in the box since the mid eighties.  I'll have to see if I still have it when I get home later. Mischief [:-,]Propeller [8-]

So, true the spirit of the build we still don't have a GB badge.  Should we/I fix that soon?

I can try to create something Roy but it won't be until tomorrow night at the earliest.  I like the pile of plastic at the feet of the Rodin idea.

Alright ~ alright,  sheese you guys...Laugh [(-D] Roy you can scratch the Heinkel HE-11 and P40 B off the list as they are pretty much done. And beings the Official start date is not here yet...

Dave - that HE -111 is the old MPC Profile Series kit.. Not the greatest kit - but not a bad representation  for the era it was manufactured

Besides if I was not working on these Shelf Sallies I would most likely crack open another kit.. Mischief [:-,]
