Hi folks.
Here is the result of 3 days of on and off building.
It is an Italeri 1/72 C-47 that I will be doing in the SAAF markings.
The overall fit is absolutely way better than on the Hudson and although the internal detail is very "little" it can easely be installed.
I added some rib and stringer detail from stretched sprue as the cargo door wibb be open.
Yes, believe it or not the S.A. Air Force did actually paint the Dakotas that awfull collour inside LOL!

That`s it for now with the Mossie. my Betty is at about the same point but I misplaced the canopy hatch...just vanished and it`s pi$$in` me off. It`s prolly hiding in plain sight I hope. Thanks for looking!

Finally got the intermediate blue down last night. This is just the base. Going to shade on top of it tonight, then blend it all in.

Len the Mossie looks really sharp,hope the carpet monster gives up the Betty part.
I've gotten some done on the wing and its ready for a shot of primer. Not happy with the seams ,they molded the bottom ones right across the exhaust humps! My rescribing skills are'nt good so its looking ugly at the moment.While the primer is drying I'm working on the fiddly props and gear. The wheels are'nt the right tread pattern so I figured none would be better and sanded them smooth.

Reasoned yes I think they did,next time I'll do the Y version with the single props!
Doogs the finish is looking great,your preshading work is awesome!!! And I would rather slam my dangly bits in a rusty truck door than do all those prop tips again!

Latest on my "shot up" SAAF C-47.
I did some pre-shading and 2 light coats of Humbrol PRU blue for the underside (and also the top as a primer)
Brown and green top cammo to follow.

Revell's recent 1/48 release. Very nice kit. I wouldn't put it up there with the latest from Tamiya - details are a bit soft in places - canopy frames, guns, wheels, some panel line detail - but it was also $30, and for that, the quality is great.
Looking great Doogs! Almost done with a P-47 (since it hit the decal stage, all modleing time has been going towards it), then progress will be made on the Ventura. Is the nose cone suppose to be white? or is that on the Aleutian Island version I'm doing?

Doogs: You use a hard line or soft line? Can't really tell in the pics in the book I have (too far away)
Soft line with white tack - all the pics I've seen that aren't modern resto's show what looks like a soft line, but a very "tight" soft line.
As for the nose cone, I'm doing one off the Zotz sheet ("Sea Deuce 2"), and it's nose is IB

I'm calling it done and its far from being one of my better builds. I just could'nt leave well enough alone and wound up mucking the NMF up to the point I just wanted it off the bench. The panel lines also leave a lot to be desired ,admit they are'nt one of my strong points and with such long runs found it difficult to keep the depth consistent. I will get some better pics outside tomorrow if it does'nt wind up in the bin first!
