Greg: That was some good ingenuity there. Got a little carried away I know. Confused

Blackdog: I just love seeing these torpedo carrying 190's and you are off to a great start on your build buddy!

Everybody: I still have the D-9 I'm going to work on here. I am getting an old build completed that I've had on the drawing board for way too long. Will be back to this one in a couple of months but am still very much "here".

Greg- Killer job on that pulley thingie. You aced it Dude!Beer

Dog- I actually leave the canopy and windscreen attached to the tree piece to use as a handle and either dip or brush the Future. Let it dry and cure for a couple of days or so and if you get some dirt or junk on it, not a problem...soak it in Windex for a couple of minutes and use a soft brush to make certain all the Future is stripped off. Dry it and try it again. Great job on your plane.

Blackdog - I dip all of my canopies in future floor wax. Just dip it and set on paper towel to drain excess and let it set for a couple of days. Brings an excellent clarity to clear plastic. So relax and go for it. Also your cockpit is looking great.

Greg - Way to go!! Now that's what we're talking about right there. Very well done and thought out. I had considered doing something similar on mine but sort of backed off. But, I'm certainly inspired to do it on my  next one. Kudos to you.

Nathan - Nice demonstration of patience and skill on your part.

I love the fedx truck. I couldn't  resist 12$ on  another 1/48 190 kit.  the 152 kit dose not have that issue with the oddly designed  wheel well part but it  dose require that you cut off the hole front end engine cowling then replace it with another one. to advanced for me at my stage of building.

I think so Blackdog. That's what I'd use em for.

I know we coverd the harness attachment a few pages back. this is my back deck for the hobby boss 190d kit. couldent the 2 pop out points be used for harness ancor attachment.

Gary: I posted this drawing of the pulley system a few pages back:

The antenna wire basically runs through a small slot in the top bar that holds the armor plate and goes to what seems to be a small roller that is placed in htat little "bump" on top of the canopy...

Clemens, Eric, Doug, really appreciate your nice comments! Thanks.

Blackdog, to be honest, I'm rather amazed at that paint line myself. :) Mine normally don't turn out quite that well. :)

Nathan, Easyline fine, indeed. Used it first time on my last build, a TBM. Was my first experience running an antenna wire. I like the stuff. Do you?

A pulley is on top of the canopy covered in a plastic fairing I think. Joe...we need canopy pics from Jerry's masterpiece! Any in there of the whole pulley mechanism? Or maybe I have some in the squadron book..

How is the aerial then routed up to the canopy?  Thanks, Gary

Greg

After seeing the pulley system that Clemens posted, I decided to try to represent it. After over-engineering it in my mind for week, had 20 minutes bench time last night and just did it.

Should have drilled a hole through the rear support to get the angle of antenna wire more accurate. Think I'll leave well enough alone this time though. :) I'm sure this has been done by many, and probably better, but was an original idea from my persepective. Geeked

Should have WHATEVER! Holy schmokes man! Now thats just awesome right there! Way ta go!

Seems I have heard or read somewhere that this was actually the result of some kind of varnish applied over the 76? Not sure where I've heard that from.

Now thats a nice idea Greg. Looks great. Is that easyline thread?

Blackdog- here's the gray-green version of 76 on your bird:

Notice how the rudder is still in the standard 76. Also, I've never seen a good looking color out of the jar for this. You'll have better luck using "sky" mixed with some 76. It should have a very subtle green in it, as in the photo.

I think it looks great greg. im amazed at the clean cut in on the painted head rest. very clean. im to shaky.

also after I tackle these PE seat harness im ready to start putting the major parts together.

my question is. is there supposed to be a seam all the way up the spine of the a/c from tail to canopy ?

I used that color on my first build and toned it down just a bit, I coundnt take the "bright" look. Being I like worn faded looks, I just added some pale grey and that did the trick. Not sure but Ithink they call that "blue green" , go figure...

this is my pick for my kit. its the minty green rlm 84 that sold it for me. now if my rlm 84 looks like that would be nice.

so this is the colors I picked for my kit. not sure how accurate that minty looking green rlm 84 is. but that's what sold it for me.

Nathan.  nice job you know your way around a kit. the problem with the wing root is that a standard deal with the Edward kits.

plasticj.  sweet work on the details. I would like to try something like that I need to get some good reference material.

falconmod.   love the look of the extra fire power. I have the same kit and you answerd all my questions for Nathan. thanks for the info.
