Seabed I stay between 1/24 and 1/25 any others would be a challenge. 

Started anw build its a 62 Corvette gasser. I'm building it box stock but going to use finger nail polish that changes color in sun light. So inside it will be off white and red metallic in the sun. I'm still testing to find the best way to apply. I've started on the chassis and engine so far here's some progress pictures.

Okay, no major new happenings... I constructed the side winglets, added them to the "blue pool", along with mirrors. That, along with front and rear wing assemblies, went through the cycle of two white base layers and two (just now received the second!) blue layers. Oh wait - and the helmet! "Hollowed" that out a bit (I don't like full body figures, just helmets!) and Panis' helmet looked pretty darned much same shade of blue than the Ligier itself... bith being of French origin I would not have been surprised if he adapted his helmet colour somewaht to fit in with Ligier, though it was always blue. And heck, on this scale it would be hard to tell the difference if I can't mae much of a difference from photos!

Again, it seems minor. Trust me, along with the week I've had, this is a miracle... I think! Nothing on the Honda... but hopefully shortly, once all the preliminary painting on the Ligier has finished. 

Goodness, I just realised... Who else works on two such extreme scales?! 1:12 vs 1:43?! I know some aero guys have 144rd(?) and go up to a huge 32nd - of which I have to do...

Mustang, there are much more important things in life - and one's wife is definitely one of them! I'm very glad there are continious improvement! 

Mopar, your plane Jane looks very smooth! Came out flawless!

Small progress on the Honda engine (pic below). As everybody who has done one of these bikes know, more sub-assemblies have gone into this. Bit peeved with some joint points on certain items being really vague, but thusfar it has only come back to bite me once.

I've also gotten the front wing assembled. And the helmet hollowed a bit. So the three of them are basically ready for paint. Just planning to see if there's anything else that's sensible to paint in this round as well.

Gotcha posted Dan!! I'd like to thank you so very much for being a part of the GB again this year even though my attendance wasn't what it was the first year. This year's been a little different for me since my wife's aneurysm back in February and has definitely thrown a "curve ball" in to us in life. We're getting through it and every day seems a little better and better. The casual observer wouldn't know that anything had happened but there are changes. I appreciate you for being one of the guys who stuck it out here with me on this GB and being there in the few times we've talked. Wow Dan!!! Thats a fantastic looking run of the mill Plymouth. It's definitely a break from the norm with these cars............but the look is captivating in the fact that more of these cars were out there on the roads than the Hemi Roadrunners or GTX's of the day. Got any engine or interior shots of this beauty? I'll get you posted up front pronto buddy.

This may seem like minor progress, but it was a bit of a pian. Phase one of the Ligier rear wing completed. Some excess glue, etc. will obviously be tidied up a lot before going to the paint shop. Monaco rear wings in the 90's are... yes well, they are testing.

What looks simple from the front, is the actual top wing elements - the currently whitish elements above the main top black one. There are FOUR! Going into three slots. You can make out one behind the two visible ones. Then a fourth behind and underneath it, to basically create multiple airways upward. Quite interesting design. 

Anyways, here it is, on an old 20th F1 tyre I found for size reference.

Crown and Mopar - those look really good! 

Mustang, I have since just leveled those out a bit. I am not too concerned about the join marks, since it is where the exhausts will come in... All four of those came in 3 pieces, then more subassemblies to build it up to this base phase. 

Only progress of the entire weekend was starting with the Ligier's (quite complex) rear wing. Just the first of the elements. It already had me muttering some words not suitable for family entertainment. I see a loooong road ahead on that rear wing!

 Here's the interior now finished with seat belts. This is the first time for me to make them I used Less Marks belts and made the metal parts.

Mustang - looking good there!

In your word, my updates also won't look like much, but took some work. Esp just getting that base engine block on the Honda built was already a bit of an assembly. But all went together quite nicely thusfar.

So - Ligier is mated to the floor (you'll see a lot of the holes quite clearly now) and also tried to get a shot of the cockpit, but it ended up a rather below-par shot! Difficult size...

Some progress on the Honda's frame and also started out with the engine. Plenty of sub-assemblies to get this far.

Thanks Dan and Eric. Yeah I hear you on the Alclad. I've got mixed feelings about my results but I get a little more content with my outcomes with every try.

I think I've got the rear suspension about figured out to where I can put the wheel in just the right place. I turned to AMT's 67 Chevelle SS396 for that. I sectioned out the framework for the axle well and graphed it into place. I had to shave some off of the axle mounts themselves so I could position the tire /wheel up into the wheel well a little but I think I've got it about where I want it right now. Still gotta figure out the chassis frame work and fabricate rear springs but those shouldn't be too big of an issue. Getting the rear suspension/ differential combo was the hardest part I thought.

   I also got the primer coat applied to the body and I'm happy with that. I've still got some work to do as there are a couple of things that didn't show up under the wipe down prior to priming but it looks like it's all manageable, but hey, a guy can't do all this cutting and hacking and NOT have any body work left over to do you know.  Wink There are a few bubbles in the primer and I couldn't for the life of me figure that out until.............I let my dog outside and found out that it was raining lightly. There aint that many thankfully and a little sanding outta get rid of the few that are there. Whew!! Got by with that one!

Thanks Mopar, Thanks Mustang, I can appreciate the work your putting in there lol. I'm hoping it'll be dry enough to sand tomorrow and maybe clear-coat by Friday. Still need to re-chrome everything with Alclad which will be fun since I haven't done it in a while. :) L8TR Eric.
