Misty - Looking good!  I am trying to figure out what all these pieces are, but I will see once its all put together.  Fantastic attention to detail!!!

Slowly but surely, making progress... Kids Spring Break this week, so we have been out doing some skiing.  I finally got the interior buttoned up.  I didn't go crazy on the interior, I never do, but one day I will.  lol

Here are a couple shots.  Go easy on me...

Tim: Well.................any of 'em! Where the fabric meets the vinyl on the seats or where colors change.

Joe - I cheated on the seats... those are decals that came with the kit and I just cut them out to fit.  I figured I'd give them a shot to break up the color a little bit.  Any other lines are done with masking tape, no secrets there.  I've been using Tamiya tape, but I suppose you could use any good masking tape.  Although, I'm not a fan of sticking tape on a fresh paint job.  I had to repaint my '57 Chevy Bel Air top because the tape stuck a little too well.  It didn't peel the paint, but it gave the paint the same contour and texture of the tape when I peeled it off.  Luckily I get to BMF the line in-between the color change on the body,

Guys, first off, awesoem work here. I have looked through everything and... seriously impressive!

My own progress has been derailed and re-started. I've had some big (bike) races recently - next race I have is my first half-marathon run in less than a month. But at least I'm building again! I have taken some pics, but not even off the camera yet. TBH, my daughters birthday pics (of end Jan!) are still not processed, to give you an idea of how hectic a time it's been... well, neither has the Dec pics, but at least that on the laptop and has been tagged!

BUT... the Jordan is 90+% done. Wheels attached, all touching ground and pointing more or less in the same direction - a miracle for a 43rd built by me. Front and rear wings attached... oh wait, this is a Ralf Schumacher car, it is not representative! (Misty, Tony -taxtp- and the other F1 guys will catch that!) So, just mirrors and some comms aerials to go. Even did the helmet, just visor to go there. This all in 43rd - I know it's been a while! Helmet from what should have been a complete figure - I do not like figures, I DO like helmets...

Very little progress on the P34. Did the exhausts and pre-work on the upper body is coming along nicely. When sanity returns - oh wait, never mind! ;)

Catch you guys soon again - keep up the absolutely awesome work you've been doing!

Another quick update...  Before laying down the BMF on the side trim, I tried out the decal that came with the kit and actually like it enough not to BMF that area.  The edges are silver and the inside is white.  I think it breaks up the two colors pretty good.  I'l start the BMF process on the rest of the window trim tonight.

Tim - I like the decal it makes for a very nice break between the the red and black. Your interior and engine bay look ready for a set of keys to fire it up.

Well, I had a catastrophic decal failure on the Dart. Had one side of the car done but then the main side panel decal shattered and it went sideways from there. Ended up tossing the body and boxing up everything and putting it on the shelf. Thought about it for a while and  decided since I had a couple more Dart bodies that I would take another shot at it. Had some other decals and decided on Hustlin' Hemi. The Slixx decals say it was Chevy Hugger Orange which worked out well as I have an old bottle of that color from MCW.

Painting and polishing went ok. Of course I do have to address the fact that this car was an automatic.

My nightly update...  Most of the exterior is done.  I think I have wipers, door handles, door locks and badges to put on tomorrow.  Hopefully it will be finished tomorrow night.

Thant looks spectacular again Tim. Outstanding paint job.

I've finished my Sierra, photos to follow soon.

I've been really bad at picking the next kit lately, can't decide.

In the end I walked into the garage (Stash) and picked up a Tamiya 1/20 Williams FW-13B F1 car on a whim, brought in inside and started it.

The molding is a little rougher than I expected, not as nice as their Ferrari F189 which was released a year earlier, but it'll be OK with a bit of work. It reminds me of the quality of their Williams FW-11 which I built a few years back. Photos to come of that too, but please update the roster for me.

Tim, this means that the experiment with Tamiya Acrylics will wait at least one more model, as I will use Tamiya TS aerosols for this build.

Cheers

Tony

Joe - Go for it, with the acrylics!  Let me know if you have any questions.  I'm happy to help.

This one gave me a couple of fits with the paint, but its presentable.  Another one in the books...

That looks brilliant again Tim, and the paint scheme really suits it.

Seabe - my  experiment with Tamiya acrylics is really just to try and emulate Tim's technique and brilliant finishes on one of my own, using Tamiya Acrylics and a dehydrator.

Here are some photos of my Sierra:

...and here's one with the two Sierras  I built way back in 1990. My first 1/24 scale cars...

Well I went to the first day of practice for the new F1season today, at the Australian Grand Prix. I'll go to the next two days, including Qualifying and the race. Of course, I am chock full of enthusiasm, so here is a photo of the kit that I am commencing now. It's the Williams from the 1990 season, and I can remember watching Belgian Thierry Boutsen winning his second GP by driving it at the front from start to finish of the Hungarian GP. At the time I thought it was an immensely impressive drive under pressure, but I don't think he ever drove to another win.

Cheers

Man it's just one right after the other around here! lol.

Tim: What an outstanding application of paint and color resulting in an explosive result!!! Man that thing shines like a mirror! I have to re-read your tutorial on the usage of acrylic paints. I'm aiming for a finish like this on my next build.

Tony: Now that's one sharp Sierra you've got there bud! The detailing and decaling skills really pop out at you on that build! I just don't know how to describe all the talent you and all the others bring to the table here.

You guys let Raven or I know which pics you want to see on the front page and we'll get 'em up there..........pronto! Lookin' for more great builds outta both of you!

Misty: I can't leave out that great paint work and decaling that you are doing! That is gonna look shuuweeeeet!!! On the edge of my seat with this build.

Thanks for all of these great comments!

Tony - looking good man!  Keep it up!!!

Dan - I'm not sure what the next build will be, but I will pick it up today.

Joe - so let me throw you for a little loop with that I did with the paint this time.  After 5-6 coats of clear, I went sanded it flat, polished it, washed it in the sink to remove the Novus and then shot one last coat of clear on it.  The only thing I did after that was wax it.  I wanted that super glossy finish that you get after a fresh paint job.  Of course you can't see it, but the red pearl is super deep since there is a lot of clear on it.  In my opinion, black is the hardest gloss finish to paint since it shows all of the imperfections.  This one came out pretty good.
