Lol... Yeah, Thanks guys... Now that I'm retired I have a little more time on my hands... But not to worry! I'm sure my wife won't have any of that and will likely find something to occupy my time with! But again, Thanks... I've not had much time to build lately and I've fallen behind abit.

Shes a tail dragger for sure, and I didnt put enough weight in the nose cavity before sealing up so for now I have to use the prop. If I should decide to place on a scene at a later date, I'll just make sure to glue the front tire down.

Again, Thanks guys for such a cool GB, I'll be back soon, and will look in from time to time to check up on the great work going on here! Now on to the RAF GB!!!

OK, finally got the decals on, after looking in all the books I have and researching on the internet, These Night Hunters had very few markings or stencils on them. I guess at the time most were painted over with field applied camo and rushed into service. Any way, Heres what I have...

OK, got all the decals on, Installed the radar array, I couldnt stand the plastic antennas so I cut them off, Drilled a hole through the mount and cut guitar string wire to fit... I think they look loads better. Also cut the gun barrels from 1/16 copper tubing and installed. Topped it all with another coat of Gloss, and will let it dry till later today when maybe I can flat coat. Tis all for now... Thanks, Doug

Bob, Johnny... Thanks guys, I'm starting the decals now, so I'll have more to post in a bit. PJ, yeah, mine not here yet, I'm going to check on later on today if I can. That was another thing the guy at the hobby shop said, (and this guy is a walking encyclopedia on models) was that the radar was almost as good as pe or resin. On the late war paint, I have been watching the Model Master RLM 82 or 83 slot (brown\purple?)forever and it's never had anything in it. Kevin (LHS mgr) said that it was never decisive and RLM never made the color official. Tamiya brown works just fine.lol...

The ROG 262 is just simply outstanding. The details are aamzing. Even the radar antennas are thin. Amazing kit for $32!

Good points about the late war color. I actually found a picture of this jet sitting on a rr flatcar in pieces.

PJ, that is looking awesome!  I love the engine

That engine detail just adds to the overall look and is a fine detailing example! As far as the color, I think at the time period we are representing, No one really knows, and I think it came out great. I read somewhere that at the time the RLM had issued an order to change fighter colors from 71 75 76 (I think) to 81 82 83 76, that is of course considering the stock of 71 75 76 was exhausted... I really dont think that RLM knew what was going on. SO... I think your colors are of the period and look fine. Nice work...

Thanks Bish. Painted first with several Alclad shades. The engine had a couple of molded wires but I added the rest from solder, copper electrical wire salvaged from cords, computer wires and soft metal floral wire.  

That is a nice looking engine. Did the wiring come with it or did you add that. I just stuck with what was molded on and some PE yellow wires.

I finally got my decals from Sprue Bros even though I'm still looking for the kit decals every now and then. I know they will eventually show up, I think.

I originally painted my Salamander in RLM 81 over RLM 76 lower as the scheme for the Revell decals I misplaced. The color scheme for the one I went with in the Eagle Cals sheet call for RLM 81 and 83 upper. Yellow 5 from 3./JG1 was built by Mittlewerk at Nordhausen and found at the end of the war on a train in France, disassembled so who knows if it had the two tone green. So it appears that this machine may have never flown so I kept the overall RLM81 color.

I have all the decals on and need to add the doors, paint the main tires, spray clear flat to kill the gloss finish and some other bits and she will be done pretty soon.

I think the triple unit badge looks very interesting.
