Oh yeah, hate to make you have to click the "first" icon rebel, but I'm out of the GB and your list has me in. Would you be able to update it? Thanks!

Am I too late for this build? I did not sign up originally as my subject was a Tiger 1, but I am doing that for the Normandy GB now, however in my stash I have an Airfix 1/72 Air sea rescue launch, these were used throughout the war in the English channel and this kit has an option for a 1944 model. I am pretty sure that some of these would of been in action on and around D-Day.
It will also add a bit of diversity to the GB, as it is a boat operated by RAF crews to pick up downed airmen etc.

Looks good Ghettochild, I like the PAnzer more though!

So do i just cover the canopy with the tape and then cut away?

John, masking & painting Aircraft canopies is one of the main reasons there are Armor modelers Smile [:)]. Scotch Magic Tape is a tried & true method. Just take your time & use a brand new, very sharp #11 X-Acto blade to trim the tape to the frame lines. Carefully burnish it down, spray away. I have also found prayer to be helpful.

Spector, sorry to see you go. Sad [:(]

I have finished the interior of the fuselage and now i have to paint it. My biggest trouble now is masking the canopy. I have literally tried everything!!! I even tried using gum wrappers.Sigh [sigh] Needless to say, i could really use some help, Please!!!
Oh, and i forgot that I havent tried one way, Scotch tape, i'll try it.

Progress on the Priest

Don't say anything - I already fix the nose - turned it right side up

Played with those Italeri - "hang in the air" - front fenders Wow!! [wow]

The priest wasn't in the first wave - but I'm pretty sure it was there not too long after that. I found a picture of one with wading trunk and D-Day markings - so I think I'm good with this. Any one know otherwise let me know

Well I think I am gonna steal the tracks from one of my other shermans cause I cant stand these dragon indies, to many injecter marks on the outside. After that its wheathering.

Good luck .... the other Shermans you have are not M4A4 based, so the tracks will be too short.

Back to the indies Wink [;)]Wink [;)]

I don't envy the work you have to do Joe, nut it's going to look great when finished.

BTW. I finished the gun and mantlet, used a fair degree of putty. Not happy with the fit of the fenders. They don't seem to line up close enough to the hull like the front picture. I felt for me that it was a profitable day at the bench. Perhaps I can get a basecoat on early next week. The camo is going to make or break the build as far as I'm concerned. It will be a tricky one at that. I'm looking forward to covering all the mess up. LOL

Thanks for all your kind comments! Yea it went together really well, I was able to devote a lot of time to this nice kit. After looking at the pictures, I think I might work on her a little more. Sherm pointed out some weak areas, and I found some other soft spots. I might also try to add a tarp. As for the badge, I did not do it for that. I did for a new friend I made while researching this project. His father was a crew member from the 635th TDB. He sent me some reference pictures that I used for markings. I plan to send it to him to honor his father. Thanks again for the kind words. Big Smile [:D]

Joe its coming along very nicely!

Hattals, Finisheshed already! looks great !

As for me, didn't get anything done this weekend, but it is summer now, lots of free time on my hands. I'm still trying to figure out how to mask those darned canopies. I just cant do it. Sad [:(]
To tell the truth, im not sure why i am building this kit?
