I think I have a problem -- I just realized the end date for this is 31 Dec !!!! Somehow I thought it was end of January -- I'm way behind !!!!!.
Anyway, if you remember my last post (30 Nov) where I figured out the cab sat too high, well I decided to fix it and that has occupied my modelling week. Of course, just fixing one thing just wishful thinking. I fixed the cab height but that made the fenders & wheels look wrong, so I had to also move the cab about 1/16" forward & that meant redoing the engine mounts and radiator. The steps, fuel tanks, and spare tire carrier had to come off & that meant frame repairs. Then I noted the cab didn't sit quite right on the frame so I had to kludge in some fill parts to make it all look better.
One other result of moving the cab forward is I now have a gap in the rear beds -- this is a good thing as I need a bit more space on the middle deck to de-conflict the gun legs & the winch handle. But I think I'll just fill the gap with something simple & not rebuild the decks themselves -- I think I can make the fill look like part of the chock assembly.
Anyway, bulk of hack & whack work is done, now I can start to put things back together. And start on the storage boxes & fuel-can holders. I better get the cab washed down & primed, at least underneath so I can get it cleaned up.
I have also been working on the ammo box, bending brass for the seat railing & etc.
None of which solves my biggest problem -- the end date for this is 31 Dec !!!! I'm way behind !!!!!.
I do not know how some of you can turn out such GREAT work in what (to me) is a short time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
