I kinda like Canadians.
Their an odd bunch, always having rubbish bailed at em on American tv shows.
I have to admit out of all the Canadians I've met, there hasn't been one I didn't like.

There was one that scared the hell outta me. He was totally off tap (a nutter), but good fun.
I like watching Ice hockey, mainly cause it appears to be controlled chaos to me, kinda like Aussie football!
As for American football, I have no idea how that game is playedConfused [%-)].
Do they really stop play for commercial breaks??????????

JB, normally I would jump in to Canadian GB with both feet but I made myself a promise that I am going to commit to less group build from now on and try and keep it at a couple for the year.

Tom in your description of your wife you have just described every Indian sports (cricket) fan I know.

Sean, that Ultracast stuff is really nice isn't it? Oh and I went to a gridiron game once when two American college teams played a couple of promotional matches out here. I'm ashamed to admit it but the game had been going for five minutes before I realised it had started Tongue [:P]

George no probs.

Rick I've got to go to another "management seminar" next week at another golf resort for three days. This is unfortunate because I’m probably the world’s most tragic golfer.

Cheers

The most fun I get out of golf is hitting the odd ball into the local High school from 100 metres away. I like hearing the bangs.Laugh [(-D] Haven't smashed a window yet......There's alot of bush nearby too, so you can get away quite easily if you need to......Wink [;)].

American football is another one of those sports I don't get (like AFL). Seems they just run into each other and one guy tries to pass the ball to a guy down the field somewhere. Makes good movies though.....

Darren, I know how you feel with the multitude of GB's out there. I started with your BoB, then I saw the Pearl Harbour one, then I created the Canadian one then there is the Japanese aircraft one and then this one. Luckily I have models for each one (PH-Zero, Canadain-Beaufighter and Bolingbroke, Japanese - Ki-43, Battle4Germany - FW-190d9). It is just the time I have to manage properly to fit it all in. Good thing this one is a ways away and the Japanese one goes until next may.
OH and I almost forgot, I also signed up for the After the Battle one with a dio of a crashed SBD. That one is kinda on hold as only 2 guys did anything and I started it but no one else was participating so I really slowed down - I should take it out of my sig. I now have an SBD all chopped up and ready for some more damaged and painting (I think like 15 guys had said they were in for that one, oh well, not all GB's can be a BoB GB!)

And that will be it (for a while), I will not commit to any more, I will not commit to any more I will n... oh what the hell, any body have a GB I can do a BF-110 with?Tongue [:P]Big Smile [:D]

Sean, Us Canadians like you Aussies too. I think it has to do with our mutual brotherhood of being a commonwealth partner and once part of the mighty United Kingdom's Empire on which the sun never sets.... or it could be that you have a really cool accent that when we get all liquored up together makes us laugh. Some that I've met can easily keep up with us pounding back the beers!

Sad part is, the commercials are usually more entertaining than the game.

Daniel, every once in a while they do allow a guy on the field to kick the ball. :)

Sean, being from Texas I'm a chips and salsa guy, but it dose give me a chance to refill my liquid refreshment.

I remember going to see the Dallas Cowboys play the Chicago whatevers at Wembley in the mid-eighties when they were trying to get England interested in American Football. I swear that game went on for days.

As you might guess American Football never really caught on over here, too similar to rugby, and not as fast.

Canadians like Ausies?

No, I always figure Canadians are like Kiwis, in the shadow of their nearer, larger neigbour, and infintely more likeable! Wink [;)]

I'm kidding stop throwing things!!!!

Anyway, where are the Kwis, I don't think I've ever seen one on the forum? Do they have the internet?

OK, that's most of the new world p@ssed off in a single post, Les patterson would be proud of me if I wasn't a whinging pommie.

Henman wouldn't know what a tennis racket even looked like!

And as for Rusedski, he's not even English, he's a Canadian!!!

We'll keep inventing games and sports, and leave getting good at them to the rest of the planet.

I like Federer, good sportsman from what I've seen.
The again I'd like anyone who dishes it up to that pompass Hewitt. Talk about 'flash in the pan'
Now Goran is a guy who I thought would shine a little longer than he has.
Dunno where he went.

Jules - http://www.feldgrau.com/3ss.html ...it will tell ya what ya need to know I think... actually I am going to bookmark the site as it looks fairly interesting if I build some German armor soon...

ironic thing at the end is the unit was probably overjoyed to be captured by the Americans.. but imagine the fear as they learned they would be handed over to the Russians???

Thanks for the link TomThumbs Up [tup] It looks like a Panther from the Totonkopf division is going to be a viable build for this GB, the decals i have are for PanzerV Panther no 102 and 111 in Poland Late 1944 so i can only speculate whether or not they survived until the unit crossed back into Germany.......
And Yeah they must have been a little worried when they learned that they were to be handed over to the Russians, i've heard that the Russians payed special attention to the SS prisoners.............

I dated a polish girl once and she said her father actually joined the German army to escape the Russians when they were closing in on Poland.... he figured it was the lesser of the two evils...

And don't forget the Russian Liberation Army (or such), the group of Russians that joined the German forces to fight Stalin's army. There is a decal set for the 109G-10 that flew for the RLA in 1945 I'm considering purchasing. Talk about being between a rock and a hard spot...Hitler....Stalin....

hmmm... who makes that decal set Bob? that sounds fringe enough to grace my bookshelf! Wink [;)]

It's funny but growing up the atrocities the Soviets commited were never taught to us in history... years later, reading about them and hearing some of it first and second hand makes me realize how either revisionist, or tunnel visioned the history we teach our kids is....

It is both. Communism is only evil when it conflicts with US national interest... ok dorry for being political. I too would be interested in making a plane from the RLA. The history channel had a show which had a bit of information on them. They even flew me-262's during the last stage of the war.

Well the old adage of 'History is written by the victors' applies here.

Lets face it, one is hardly likely to get the truth if it means that the so called 'heroes' turn out to be just as bad, if not worse in some cases, as the enemy they were facing.

I for one will make sure my kid has enough knowledge not to be blind sided by one way history lessons like I was.

The truth will set you free, or get you expelled if you ask too many questions!
(Found that out the hard waySad [:(])
