AAAUUUUUUGHHHHHHH!!!!!

Say it isn't so Jay??!!!?!?! Disapprove [V]Disapprove [V]Disapprove [V]

The Jets (as in Winnipeg Jets... where I grew up) had some good teams in the mid 80's but because of the stupid conference system could never get past the first or second round because of you know who!!!! To make matters worse, my best friend jumped on the Oiler band wagon (traitor!!! Angry [:(!])

(do you sense some deep resentment here... perhaps therapy... won't even touch the sale of the Jets anymore... sniff!)

Edit... Oh ya man... big can of worms!!!! Wink [;)] and just for added measure...

I try to keep my music "on topic" when I build. Big Smile [:D]

We could disguise an ME-262 GB as the "PLANES OF ROCK GB-2006"

Since this build is still 3+months off and we are already off topic... any other album covers feature aircraft?

There was one guy that did one a few months back, he did a P-51B as a Motley Crue bird, pretty cool actually.

Dave, I really miss the rest of the Canadian teams, I love the old Jets logo, even the good ol' Nordiques!. Those were the days. I just hope you aren't one of those hapless BlueBomber fans, I would feel so sorry for you. ha ha.

hmmm, I'm the odd man out.. I don't listen to music typically when I build. If I do it is Aterciopelados (Alternative Spanish), actually my wife's cousin is the lead singer, 4 Latin Grammy's and one "Real" Grammy.. or Andrea Bocelli (operatic soft rock)... I save the Dubliners for weekends Wink [;)], sometimes Yes "Machine Messiah" or something of that nature calls...

Oh and Darren - I still have 3/4 a bottle of Regdab Needle juice.. I swear by the needle lubes!!! Especially since I spray 99% acrylic...

---edit---

Oh yeah... sprayed Alclad through this brush and BAM!!! I am hooked!!! And the Vallejo acrylic thinned right goes on like velvet!!! Surprisingly my biggest fear (paint cup in my line of sight) has not even been an issue... I'm a convert! Can't wait till Xmas now for the CS! I think the wife got tired of hearing me say "one of these days I am going to order that brush"

Marc that's a cool album cover I've never seen it before, what year did it come out? The only other one that I know off is Iron Maiden did a record waaaay back when that featured a skeleton guy flying a Spitfire.

Hey there Canadians, what sport would you guys be talking about there Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Oh and everybody can relax now, Australia has escaped by the skin of its teeth with a draw against England in the second cricket test, phew.

Now you may find that there's some strange people on this build but don't worry they are quite normal, sort off

Cheers

I think it was worse when we got beaten by Bangladesh.......At least Middlesex (the county team) had Jayasuriya in their team. BTW, if you think that one was down to the wire, how was the Edgbaston test? Australia lost by three runs in probably the best test match ever.

Can anyone tell I really like cricket???Wink [;)]

Sounds like a great idea! put me down for a .... oh dear .... i'll need to go shopping.

Then again, I'm seem to recall having a 1/72 Fine Molds Me 410A-1 and a 1/72 Hasegawa He 111H-6 still sitting in an HLJ box in a cupboard somewhere.

Could you hold off on what exactly it is I'll be building for a while? I'd really like to source a Revell Me 262A-1 (easier said than done out here), and still have a Ju 388 and Ju 288 on the way, from the US.

cricket eh? I'd be a fan of the indian team myself... some great bowlers on that team. Test matches, the only sport in the world that has week long games lol.

Sorry Tom I completely missed this yesterday when you posted. Can you tell me what air pressure you use to spray the Alclad, as I find that I have to up the pressure a tad on mine to about 18psi to get an even spray? I don’t know if this is the operator, or just the way it is.
As to the paint cup issue, I agree and although I am certainly not an expert with the Iwata, one thing I have learned is to know exactly where the paint will appear on the model in relation to the AB.

Cheers

Darren - I also spray around 18psi, with either my Badger 175 or the Iwata, Alclad recommends 15 to 20 psi for spraying their colors and 18ish seems to work for me!!! Last time I had the pressure too high without knowing it (before I read Alclads site) and it didn't cover good at all...

LEarning to judge where the paint would hit was quick for me... like I said, I am taking to this airbrush quick. I had thoughts of taking it back and going ahead and ordering the CS until I thought about all the acrylics I own.. I may keep using it but try the CS later. If nothing else I am sure I can find someone wanting to buy one at a $20.00 discount or so for a slightly used CS!!!

Oh and I primed with Testors black enamel, much the same as Swanny mentioned in his tool tip by using Krylon black... no cracks in the finish this time like I had with the Alclad2 black primer...

burn16v welcome to the build and as we have a heap of time before we start you've got plenty of time to choose your build. Oh and any chance of supplying at least a first name to go with your User ID?

Tanky, my boss and quite a few of my co-workers are Indian and they are all fanatical cricket fans. I thought Aussies were mad about cricket but we are nothing compared to the Indian fans (at least the ones that I know).

James, thanks for that and btw, what crew did you use on your Tiger, they look great!

Tom, phew that's a relief 18 psi is what I use now, I was trying to spray the Alclad on about 12-14psi and it wasn't working well at all. I was getting a lot of stop/start spraying if you know what I mean.

I'm not a fan of cricket, except when teh Aussies are getting a good spanking!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and that would be NOW!!!Evil [}:)]

It's about time the Aussies played less than average, seeing as they hav owned the game for the last 5+years.
Always having one team win, well, it just in't cricket 'Ol chum.

Got my Ultracast seats for the Spit today, and they are something to beholdShock [:O]
I always wondered what you guys found so good about them till I held one in my hand and had a real good gawk at it.
Such crisp moulding, the harnesses are excellent, and the overall look and scale (thickness) is fantastic.
Not bad for $10 from eBay!!

Should make the Spit look pretty good with Ultracast seats and a nice CMK Merlin resin engine Smile [:)]

James, I feel really sorry for you that you are a Tiger cats fan. Seeing as how they haven't won a game all season. You do realize that the green and gold (Eskimos) are going to take the Grey Cup this year.

I'm really itching to build my FW-190d9. but I still have three models to build before then!

Mate, why Grey??????

One would think that Gold would be more appealing, failing that maybe a nice peuce or even magenta.
I hear auburn is hoing to be big this spring!

But grey????????????????
Seems kinda bleek to me.

Sean, "Grey Cup" refers to the trophy handed out to the winner of the Canadian Football League, just like the "Stanley Cup" is awarded to the winner of the National Hockey League. It really isn't grey, it is all silvery. It is named after Lord Albert Henry George Grey, the guy who donated it to the first football clubs in Canada as thier championship trophy.
http://www.geocities.com/cflhistory/Greycup1.gif

This trophy has been awarded for a long time, Since 1909 I believe (95 years!).

I've never been much of a football fan (Canadian style), something about a 9 team league that for many years, until recently, had two teams with the same name!! Go figure!! I'm not just saying that because the Bombers (hey, that almost sounds like its on topic) are 2-6. At least I'm not cheering for the Ticats who are 0-7 including a 44-14 whipping from the aforementioned hapless Bombers. Big Smile [:D]

So then Dave, what is yer posion, after Modeling and trying to figure out whether or not you should cheer for the canuckle heads.

For sports, I am into watching Hockey (oilers, of course) CFL and NFL (I love american football, both versions!). Baseball is boring (WAY too many games), Basketball (NBA) is just stupid but I used to play it a lot, I still enjoy college and University games though. I have recently gotten into Lacrosse (helps when the Calgary Roughnecks win the NLL Championship!) and Soccer, er .. real football is good too but we don't have any teams in Calgary worth mentioning and the European leagues and Premiership games are all televised at wierd hours that I can't really find the time to watch the games. Sad really, as I enjoy a good Match and am really looking forward to next years World Cup. and Rubgy, well I sort of understand it but not much better then cricket. I should talk to my cousin's husband he's a big fan and a coach at one the local highschools.

I know this is totally [#offtopic but nothin much is happening with the build anyway as it doesn't start for a while. I guess we all could just talk about Kremps but then her head would just get bigger than it already is and we all know what happens then, right Tom!Wink [;)]Blush [:I]

Hockey has always been my biggest passion for sports, but the sale of the Jets in '95 and the strike last year have me really jaded. Why support a bunch of over paid cry babies Disapprove [V]. I don't mind watching the occasional football game or even baseball but could never sit down and watch a whole game of either.

Golf used to be very entertaining but my favorite past time of watching Phil Mickelson choke on the final hole of a major seems to be a thing of the past. My former golfing buddy was a lefty and was an Accountant with one of the major firms that sponsered Phil so I loved rubbing in the choke aspect whenever we were close on our scores and on the final hole!!

did someone mention Kremps????? Tongue [:P]

sorry, was letting yall go on about sports and all... for some odd reason growing up I never did get much into sports. I do watch the occasional football (not American football, but soccer) match... Especially when it is Colombia versus someone else. My wife doesn't enjoy sports but let her see that red gold and blue of her countries flag and she's right there screaming at the TV with the veins popping out in her neck... they are fiercely proud of their country!!

The only spectator sport I follow is College Football. Here in the USA, College Football is almost a religion in some areas. I played Baseball in College, but the only sport I can participate in now Is Golf, which is my warm weather passion.
