Darren, the dates sound alright for both BoG and BoB. It gives me lots of time to prepare! For the next BoB GB I'm seriously thinking of the 1:48 fujimi bf-110 like in the BoB mag FSM just recently put out. Tongue [:P] CAN'T WAIT!

Jay - I've never quite finished mine, but only have fiddly prts to put on to be complete... but the Fujimi kit is sweet! fits together very well and although the surface detail is not that great it looks good. The canopy is a bit to mask though as it has recessed lines in it versus raised canopy braces. Other than that it is a nice build, very little complications!

I should be able to finish mine this summer and post up some shots to ya!

JB that the same kit I was thinking of doing, no probs though there are plenty of markings available for the 110. From what Tom says it's should be a pretty nice kit too, should build up well but I'll think I'll wimp out and go for some pre-cut masks for the canopy.

Cheers

Darren,

You can count me in for this build. I'll take a look at what I might want to do. Thinking about a nmf Monogram B-17, but I also might like to do an armor piece... anyone know of a good Soviet JS 1 or JS2 kit?

Jules I am glad to hear that the kit arrived safely. I knew it would be fine, but there is always that niggling worry that it will get lost or worse. Oh yeah that issue of Flightpath is excellent isn't it Thumbs Up [tup].

Joe welcome aboard, I'll put you down in the list of definite absolutely maybes. I'm in the same bucket as you at the moment, is it going to be a tank or an aircraft???

Cheers

Jules I'm building "Black magic" at the moment for the P-40 GB. I got the Red Roo decals for it. Only problem is, they're wrong according to the mag article. The decals have the code a HU*L and the serial as A29-563. They should be HU*E and A29-575. Doesn't matter too much, I still got the nose "art" and roundels. Some spare A-numbers and codes should sort it out.

Darren, mate i gotta pay for postage, you've already gone to enough trouble getting it for meThumbs Up [tup]

Pingy You would think that Red Roo would have got it right eh.....I'll have to find a cross referance to make sure i get the right codes with Waddy's machine.....
BTW when are you planning on building itQuestion [?]

Pete welcome to the GB and I think you'll find there is quite a bit armor being done for this build even from us normally wingy things guys.

Pingy and Jules I've got two sets of P-40 decals on order at the moment, one is Red Roo and the other is Aussie. One sheet features amongst others Bobby Gibbes P-40E with nose art and the other has some P-40Ns from the Pacific with some great nude nose art. When I pick them up I'll do a scan of what they look like.

Cheers

Jules, the wreck you see is an SBD, I found it on http://www.pacificghosts.com/pearlharbor.html
I'm in the 'after the battle' GB and I've got an old Monogram SBD I think would look kinda neat all rusted up and sitting in some bush like that photo. It will be my first 'real' diorama.

Jules I'm doing the Hasegawa P-40N at the moment. Still not sure if I'll do this one as Black Magic or wait and use the decals on the Mauve kit I'll build later on. Might do it for this one and do a foliage green N for the next Aussie GB, I like the look of those ones too.

I'm was mucking around for a couple of hours last night trying to come up with a badge for this GB but so far I haven't found one that I like.
I came up with a couple of options, one was the wrecked Reichstag in 45 and the other is a Sherman advancing through a German town. Both are great photos but when reduced to GB badge size you can't actually tell what they are supposed to be Angry [:(!].
So, if anybody could help out and send me an image that typifies the battle for Germany (but would still be identifiable when shrunk down) I really would appreciate it.

Cheers

Jules thanks very much for having a look for me, I've been hunting around for the last couple of days and nothing has grabbed me. I'll post a couple of test badges of what I have so far when I get home from work to show you what they look like.
Also, do you have the series Band of Brothers on DVD?

Cheers

Jules I don't knock them together that quick. So far in '05 I have built:

1/48 Dragon FW-190A-5;
1/48 Tamiya BF-109E-3 (For the NA GB);
1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk.1 (For the BoB GB);
1/48 Acc. Min. SBD-3 (for the Midway GB);
1/12 Tamiya Honda RC211V (for the RC211v GB);
and a 1/48 Trumpeter P-40B (for the Aussie GB).

That's a model a month, which seems about right. It usually takes me about a month to finish a model. Even though I'm at home alot, I don't actually work on my models very much. I could probably do one a week if I did alot of work on them.

I'll probably post some pics of my P-40 on the aircraft forum when I finish it.

Darren I've got the Band of Brothers series on DVD mate. It's a very good series that one. BTW, I reckon the wrecked Reichstag building photo would do great for a GB badge.

me too.....as soon as I saw that roll-over hoop on the top, I thought "I know what that is", but couldn't figure it out until you told us. Seems so obvious now.

Jules I have a feeling I've built a few more than that this year, but can't quite remember which ones.....BTW, that Band of brothers is well worth checking out. If it wasn't illegal, I'd make you a copy and send it to you Wink [;)]Wink [;)].

Thad thanks but I do own it, I think I must have watched it about nine times so far, great show.

Nick welcome aboard, I'll put you done on page one in the list of definite maybes.

Tom Nothing wrong with a backup of a purchased disk, just in case.

Rick - let's just say Kremps choice of videos is a little "eccentric"..... Disapprove [V]

I just burn them for her because the dogs like to curl up in her back hair and sleep and it keeps them quiet for awhile! Wink [;)]

Yeah Rick i know what you mean mate, Apparently old "KREMPS" suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome from time to time, you see the Soviets used to have her hang upside down from their Tank gun with weights attached to her back hair and use her as kinda of a feild modification anti mine flail..............
BTW did you see the one of her trying to milk that Yak in TibetQuestion [?]
