Don't move up the start date. I'm already up to my arse in half built models for other GB's.

Chuck and Will, welcome to the build guys I'll update you on the first page.

Will you might want to check the size on your sig there mate, I think it's a tad over the limits in the old sig guidelines Smile [:)].

Tanky, sorry but I'm double ditto with Daniel and Rick on the build start date. I've still got half of my Nth Africa, most of my Midway and all of my Pearl Harbour builds to go before this thing gets started.

Cheers
Darren

Tanky Whoa boy, hold up there a little!!!!!

I'm with Darren, Tom and Rick, I've still got the MS406 and Semo to finish for the NAGB, the MS isn't even in the paintshop yet.

That, and if I go for the Panther I've been thinking, about the AM is going to cost me a couple of months worth of modeling budget!!!

Just need Tamiya to bring out a Panther in 1/48............

Karl

Currently on the bench: AZ Models 1/72 Mig 17PF

Tanky - maybe you're making it nervous with your impatience??? Wink [;)]

Still not sure what I will come up with for this build. I have the S-100 Schnellboot I have been wanting to build anywway... but a Tempest V sounds good too. (I think Nick mentioned it over in the N Africa GB) Then again I still have a P-47, a P-51 and various sundries waiting to be built too... I am sure it will be none of them as I go for the fringe... (and no I will NOT build another Martlet for this one!!!) Although.............. I still have one more F4F on the shelf and decals for 2 more Martlets... Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

I'm afraid Tweety would call the night desk at Happy Acres and have me hauled back if I did though...

Maybe a Soviet F4F, I did see some info on that the other day!!! Wink [;)]

Well Tanky it looks like consensus has been reached on the date.

Tom I have the Tamiya 1/48 P-47 Bubbletop which I'm going to save for Blackwolf's Aces of the Eighth GB next year. For this build I'm still thinking of a tank of some kind.

Cheers

Did someone say "Aces of the eighth GB next year"???? Why does there have to be so many good GB's coming up? Just when I was looking at finishing up a few, all these new ones pop up....... Angry [:(!]

Darren That Norwe spit would be a contender, if it suits the time frame.

Tom your right, I'd call the night desk and have them deliver your medication via suppository, just to spice things up a bitBig Smile [:D]

Daniel,

Oh yeah, Steve (aka Blackwolf) has the badge for the Aces of the eighth GB in his sig and when I sent him an email on it he said that it was definitely on for 2006 and should not clash with the BfG GB.

For me I'm thinking of a Wolf Pack P-47 with the RAF green and grey camo and D-Day stripes Big Smile [:D].

Hey Darren, Would a TA-183 be to much of a reach for this build. I got one in my stash just waiting to be built.

hmmm I do have a King Tiger as well... was saving it for a rainy day but since most of what I build is AC it may be fun.... I've heard the tracks are a bear to put together though...

Thad if that's the AMtech Focke-Wulf TA-183 you're talking about, then you've got yourself a beautiful kit. I'm about 90% completed on mine at the moment ([:0] yes that's right I'm actually building a kit that's not for a GB) and am really pleased with the results and the kit.

Unfortunately (for this GB), no production examples of the Ta 183 were ever completed because on April 8, 1945 British troops captured the Focke-Wulf facilities. So for the BfG GB it's not applicable I'm afraid Sad [:(].

Tom oops I didn't see your post there.

What brand of KT kit do you have? The one I've got features DML's new wiz bang magic links. I haven't checked them out yet but they're supposed to be easy, just clean them up and clip them together (I hope).

Darren, I knew I would be reaching to build that kit for this gb, but it such a beautiful looking kit I just have to build it. I guess I will have to do the unthinkable and build it outside a gb. Did you run into any problems with yours?

James I didn't have any problems at all, the fit and engineering on that kit are just awesome. About the only things that I did to mine is to cut the canopy (you know what I mean) so that I could pose it open and add a PE harness to the seat.
The biggest decision you have is what scheme you want to paint it in.

Cheers

I am making a serious effort not to join anymore GB's. I have many kits waiting to be built that aren't part of any GB's, and when I come back from the Nats, I'll have many more. Of course, I wouldn't dream of dropping out of any I'm already in...

12 Page and 235 replies… ok 236 now… and we have not even heard the starting gun yet. Hey… it’s not even loaded yet. I am really itching to start the 1/24 190D. If I can’t hold off ‘til the start I don’t think it will be big problem coming up with something else.

Darren, sounds like the same kit you have... it's the DML KT Ardennes offensive. Has the magic tracks and all... Not sure if I will do that or another subject for the GB... I also have a 1/32 FW-190 A8 I would like to get on display (big plane) .. the 1/24 Spit Vb I have could be used in invasion stripes I guess??? would DDay count for the beginning of the battle for Germany? I would also like to tackle the 1/32 Fieseler Storch as that would look impressive hanging from the ceiling.. would need to search for an appropriate Euro scheme though...

hmmm just had an idea on how to do the wood decks on the S-100 I have too... too many decisions!!!!

The Magic Track links that DML has been comming up with are amazing.. I have heard bad things about them not really fitting and what not, but to be honest, they were the best links a Tread Head could hope for! I built the DLM Initial Tiger and boy, the links really didn't need any cleaning up, maybe one or too with some excess flash, but, other than that, it definately was a dream!

cool! good to hear that, I heard some slightly negative things about them in the armor forum but if I do build this one I will be asking you for general help as the last armor I built was the Tamiya M-60 in 1988 and it had the one piece rubber treads... and a LOT less detail in general!
