Engine and chassis are looking good Tony!

Looking great! Is that the gas tank in the center? I know very little about those...
Andy
You bet Andy that's the push water. Hi Bill how's it going? I'll say one thing these half tracks are sure labor intensive, more so than any open top tank. You should try it sometime buddy.
Thanks guys
Tony,
I've built various HT-based kits but it has been a while since I tackled one. I've got a couple of DML's Sdkfz 7 based kits in the stash, might have to dig one of those out in the near future depending.
Excellent work there Tony. I simply love that vehicle ever since I seen it in the encyclopaedia of German armour, I would buy one tomorrow but I hate doing anything from the north African campaign. I should do something since my uncle fought there, but I did do one of the horchs with the flak 20mm years ago but some idiot Goya into a big BS rant about how stuff should be weathered in north Africa so I never touched the subject since. I love what you have done with the engine and chassis so far and I know this will be another stunner from you. Terry.

Mounted the radiator and installed the upper and lower hoses,I made those out of wire insulating jacket.
See ya later folks
I'm getting grease on my hands just looking at it! Great work as usual.
It's been a great day, how about yours?
Mounted and did some weathering on the wheels and while they were drying I finished and fitted the tracks. I'll start painting those tomorrow.
You folks take care now
Nice work on the wheels, they provide a nice contrast to the painted chassis.
Looking good as usual! Knowing you as the king of Fruils and PE... I am surprised that you didn't go for Fruil this time. Maybe it wasn't available for this kit.
Andy I paid a little more for the kit to start off with and I do have a set that works for this model but the indy tracks in the kit looked pretty good to me so i'll save the Fruils for another day.
No PE sets out there for this one
Bill it does don't it. I don't think I planned it that way but i'll take the credit.
Looking good...no PE....you must feel naked
Rounds Complete!!

Oh there's one fret with the kit so it's not total withdrawal Mike.
Good Night World
Ya really been relaxing on this build Tony. She,s coming along nicely.
Greg,I need to try relaxing more,"Detailfreak"Rowley

Bronco didn't supply a muffler/silencer in the kit but the mystery has been solved.
I guess Bronco didn't see this picture:
A little scratch work will fill the void.
I propose that Bronco hire Pvt Mutt as consultant for all future SPG designs... great picture there. Either bottom was painted very dark or black or mud was very dark brown? Hard to tell...
Still to much caked on age but it looks like dark yellow. After getting most of the grime off the frame was stripped and sand blasted then red primer applied.
Hey Tony looks like you've been having a lot of fun and relaxation here. It's definetly showing on the model, lookin good. I've got to learn your web search skills, I'd never find reference pics like that.

Stephen since I got this new puter with Win-7 on it I can't find near as much as I did with XP.and I ask for help.
Sometimes I get so relaxed I have to strap myself in the chair at the bench, in fact I forgot to post todays progress. In between track steps I worked on the cowling bits. Instead of using the kit provided covered windshield I went for the in use look to be different.
Oh you're wondering if it will fold down ain't you, yep it do.
Thanks for coming by for a spell
very sweet looking item !
Must Lurk...

You better stop the lurking and build us another 38.
Yes sir it will break your heart and Thanks

A P-38 any series of coarse. I like those Typhooooooons and Tempest too.
Sounds like you need a less comfortable chair Tony...drool doesn't count as a scratch-build element for build consideration!
I don't know about that Tex. I use the "Drool Factor" to determine the technique I want to use and at what time I need to stop when i'm ahead.
Purely Scientific Procedure
if you add saltines... it cuts down the "drool factor" ...
No Salt P38, doctors orders.
unsalted saltines ??.. and since we're all friends. Chris works ifn ya want to use that ..
LOL that had me wondering, never know what the younger generation will come up with these days.
After all this time Chris it will be,make a note to myself.
