Well you kind of point the long end towards the destination and, as Mike would say, pull-string-and-go-boom! That's how you know where it's headed. This one's going to make quite an impact when all said and done!

Just guessing Tony , but if the engine is a diesel could the rectangle opening be the air inlet and the round part be the air filter container ?

All German gear used gasoline and not diesel engines as a standard rule. Still, it wouldn't surprise me if it was an auxiliary air filter added as a "Tropen" modification or something similar given its location.

When I first saw it I thought it might be an air filter too but seeing how it is mounted so low and right behind the front tire it would suck up dust like crazy and that's why I ask.

Tony , i thought that also . Seems like an air intake should be up higher on the vehicle . I just cant think of what else would be shaped like that .Has the model got a detailed engine and compartment ? Just wondering if anything is plumbed to that area on the inside of the engine compartment .

Tony , That long necked container at the left could be an oil bath air filter with the hose coming out of it into the square carburator , the two lines coming out the front of the carburator could be fuel lines . Why two ? Who knows how accurate any of the engine parts are . So thats as far as i'm going with my quessing . Close the hood and drive on .

I don't think those are fuel lines coming out of the exhaust manifold like that.?????

On this side i wouldnt think fuel lines would run that close to the exhaust manifold ..................yikes !You painted the lines brass , you know something your not telling me ? And that gizmo on top of the head cover ? Looks like some kind of compressor run of the crank shaft in the rear .
