To start, Scott , nice start...Tex Gunner, Good info, I've always opted to dry brush but there are those times... I will head for the hobby shop this weekend to see whats offered, thanks for the tip! Man Joe, I just cant tell you how much I appreciate you doing this GB. So many great builds and good info being shown here. I Love It!
Well... #3... I found (at a yard sale today) a Monogram Fw190,1/48 scale, STILL SEALED in the box for $1.50. I thought about leaving in the box....For about 30 sec, Then tore it open. Man, I forgot how cool these old Monogram kits are, The fuselage and wings are just beautiflly rivited and paneled, and the copyrite and molding date in the fuse half is 1968. Well I thought about a thread I exchanged with Nathan where I had not wanted to try and do alot od detail to a 1/48 and his reply was ... They scream for detail too! Well Hell...Why not. My next build will be this 1/48 Monogram Fw190 (A-4) The aircraft flown by
ObLt Heinrich "Bazi" (Rascal) Sterr, 6/Jg54 Yellow 2 bar. This cought my eye while researching and I think is one of the coolest camo schemes I've seen. (Luftwaffe that is) Going as far out as I dare on this one,Aires BMW 801 resin engine,Tru-Detail seat, pit, and wheels, Eduard PE set,White metal landing gear,Eduard guns... There will be alot of scratch built too since this kit has no firewall, engine mount and many other items that will be required. OH, there will be ALOT of thread cutting also, since all panels and cowlings will have to be greatyly altered.
Keep me in your prayers , Please...(ha)
