Look at all those goodies Doug. Youre gonna have lots of fun pal. I stayed up extra late last night and got up a little early. Got the cockpit tub, seat and rear cockpit armor painted. Also started building the seat belts. Will post pics very soon.

Scootertrash- I've got you penciled in on the intro page now. Sorry it took so long. That looks familiar as I cut the same parts out last night and started right away on painting them.

Made some serious progress....pit was not that detailed, but that is okay as I am not doing a lot of detailing.  I usually install the seat last, so I need to fix that up a bit and make belts.  So far, this HB Ta152C is very nice.

Not sure which scheme I will ultimately use...one of these two:

Okay....why are only my img codes showing up without pic display?  Is it a photobucket thing or a site thing?

You probably need to be using the rich formatting option, I'd guess

My bench is a bit crowded at the moment, but I committed to this bad boy a while ago, and a Tamiya F-8 should be a nice, relaxing build next to the other things  competing for my time.

Here's the kit (and the Eduard Big Ed set):

Honestly the Big Ed goes a bit overboard - replacing the whole cockpit pan with PE for example, so I'll probably be cherry-picking. Looking forward to seeing if I can get the flaps to work, though!

As far as markings, I was going to steal from my Eduard Profipack F-8, until I came across this scheme on an Authentic Decals sheet:

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

On Deck:  1/350 HMS Dreadnought

Nice work so far everyone! Doug you got a cool project ahead of you. Hey Joe, put me down for a Hasegawa A-4 and an A-8/R2, 1/48.

Got some sweet books over the holidays. Eric Mombeek is the luftwaffe king! Great refs with lots of rare photos and also a great story of the Jagdwaffe's struggle.

If you're in need of ref pics just let me know.

Nathan... Thanks for the tips on the books! I'm still reading Jg26, and am learning alot about the Top Guns of the Luftwaffe. Yup the project is going to be intersting to say the least. Like Doogs said, I'm going to likely cherry pick the PE and resin, and being its not made for this kit it will be a challange at best. Thats OK though... its what we do , right? (ha) Excited to see some builds begining... Take care... Doug

Happy New Year Everybody. Looks like some folks are off to some nice starts. Just got back yesterday from our week in Seattle for Xmas vacation so most of my time today is unpacking and getting back into the swing of things. May try and get some pre-game pics taken or even possibly dip the canopy in future just to say I started on Jan.1. My build is most likely going to be one of the late finishers as I need to finish 2 other GBs by end of April. But, I'll be here all the time to enjoy your builds. Model On!!

My official entries:

Gonna use some leftover pe from an eduard set. I was gonna do the box art scheme as I also have these decals from Aeromaster as well, but then I stumbled upon this Sturmjager:

...and heres the A-4 with ultracast seat, wheels, and Master barrels. I'll be using the kit decals for the box scheme:

I'll be painting on the cool JG 1 cowling stripes. The rest of the Hasegawa decals should be ok.

Put me down please. I have an old ARII 1/48 scale Fw-190 that would fit right into this GB. I have a couple builds to complete before I begin on the Fw-190 but they shouldn't take too long.

A couple of nice looking schemes you are going for there nathan. My A-6 will also be in the markings of JG 1, but with black and white squares instead of stripes.

I sprayed some RLM76 on the Ta152 for the underside.  I will let it sit a day, before adding the topside colors.

Got started on the A-8. Added a little pe to the otherwise outstanding oob parts.

Belts painted

Got the base color and shading done on the seats and IP panels. I didn't like the molded on seat cushion on the A-8 kit so I robbed one from an Eduard kit and thinned the sides down. I'm not sure about the Quickboost seat, as it looks too small(narrow).

Hi there, This will be my first group build ever. New year resolution is to get back into the hobby!  I haven't built a kit for quite some time, I have a 1/32 scale 190 in the stash.  I haven't touched the stash for over ten years.

Ryan.

Hey Ryan. Welcome back to the hobby! Let me know what the manufacturer of the kit is and what model of 190 that it is and I will edit you in on the opening post. Aside from that you have chosen the right place to come to as I have learned more from this forum in the past year than I have in all of the reading and video watching I have done over the past 10 years!  There are alot of good people here who will be happy to help out should you run into a snag. Youre in good hands here chief. Now lets crack that box open and build. Good to have you in here Ryan, Joe

Ugh!  i started in late 2011 and am just about done. I hope to put the finishing touches on tonight or later tomorrow.  I'm a bit out of the bounds of group build dates but I'll post a few photos when she is done.  Just a teaser for now.  (1/32 Hasegawa)

Nice start Joe, looks like you made a minuscule dent in all that PE! Hey Ryan welcome aboard and have at it. Nothing like the Luftwaffe to get you back to modeling again.

I got my cockpits painted and shadows and drybrushing done thanks to the quick drying Tamiya German grey.

rudder pedals for the A-4 got drilled out, and the A-8 will get pe pedals

One thing I've done with my last few builds was add rivets to the fuselage with the amazing riveter from RB tools. I copied plans and added rows here and there, not rivet for rivet, and I stopped when I felt I got the point across! They are real subtle so it hardly shows in the pics. This necessary evil has to be done before the halves are joined together.

Tomorrow cockpits will get a wash/flat coat/ pigments/ chipping, then everything can be closed up!
