Sign - Ditto [#ditto]  I only had some 1/48 stuff and have not seen that shield before either, Mikester. See I knew there was a waffle involved somewhere! I mean I apologize for the mix up in names. Y'all need to learn to speak Texas I reckon. Are ya kin folk relation? It also is confusing that you are both from foreign countrys that charge too much for petrol. I think I had better stick with Mike and Guy... Plus with te great looking bombers you are making I could call ya the Lufty twins exceptional!  Ouch Black Eye [B)]

Mike, took a look for the white shield emblem with no luck.  Looks like your order from GM is your best bet.

Dave, thanks for looking, the KG 76 bird will probably end up being a little more interesting anyway.

Oh no don't read it like that. I am just so rattlebrained that the multiple Luft names get me mixed up. Nothing personal Luftwoller, Luftwafle, or anyone else. Isn't there a Lufty as well? Blindfold [X-)] Waffling? is that an English expression? Sounds like how I describe politions. I have a sort of British question about the movie. In the scene where the couple finally get a moment together and they argue about her transfer. He calls her a name? Went clear over my head anyone recall that?

A 101 degrees in Canada? The poor polar bears and eskimo's must be opening lemonade stands. Whew it get that hot here routinely but it seems higher temps up north just feel hotter to me.

Eeyore colors? Probably doesn't matter anyways. May as well be rain cloud blue. Oh bother, maybe something useful like a target on the comode?Whistling [:-^]

Mark, I took an picture of a table in one of my references with the Stuka units involved and their codes.  Hope this will help.

Based on this the middle option on Superscale's sheet 48-833 as pointed out by Aaron and available at Great Models is your best bet.  There is another company called flightdecs at

http://flightdecs.ca/INDEX.HTM

that has a couple of other sheets in stock.  One is another Superscale sheet 48-895 and the other is an Eagle Strike sheet 48-082.  Flight decs is a Canadian company and you have to contact them by email, fax, or phone to order.  Happy hunting.

Greg, that pit is looking good.  Keep the pics coming.

Aaron, looking good also.  Keep plugging away.  Oh, and yes we have grass up here, and the temperature hit 38.6 degrees celcius (101 fahrenheit) last weekend.  No relief from the hot temps here bud. Wink [;)]

Beautiful work Greg!  Looks like you're making great progress on your Spitfire. Thumbs Up [tup]

Aaron- LOL, great books, aren't they?  I have both the '109s, the 190, and the Stuka in the series.  Cool books, great for inspiration like Stan stated.

LOL, the RLM 65 is a good idea, but I think a 74/75/76 would set it off nicely. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

No help on the decals or the stuka info. I know what units served but not the units marking.

Nice work on the siptfire Gzt, the cockpit looks great.

I have those books as well. There good for getting ideas and odd camo schemes. I built a K-4 from those books for no other reason other then I liked the look.

Great  Stuff! I can finally see if there is a diff quote at the end other than what I posted! Thanks to all about the condolences for my departed mower....Boohoo [BH] Got replaced by a Toro. Wasn't a big thing really just a case of sticker shock. Honda mowers were going for over 6 or 7 hundren. Geeze, better mow the grass while I build models at that cost.

Frank love the stuka pics... Where have you been all my life?Kisses [:X] I think I have that series on the 109 e-f and another F-k if anyone needs some BOB Me-109 profiles. ( I know we don't have many 109 fans here....right?Shock [:O]

razordws ?

There is grass that far north? I thought you just used bagged mowers to pick up all the Maple leaves? Wouldn'y mind that as it is kinda hot here.

gzt!!!!! Looking sharp! WOW I may have to use your pit as a model for that pegasus kit!

Hope I hit everyone. Your work is just steller if I missed ya!Thumbs Up [tup]

My progress? Shy [8)] Well er... ya see there was this short haired blonde distracting me but I did get my bench a bit cleaner, compressor together and things are looking a little blue.

Wow time to go to work.... again Sigh [sigh] Awesome modelers doing some awesome work guys!

here it is

Cockpit has some parts from Eduard set, however the IP I decided to make based on Tamiya original part, since it is nicely done in 3D and Eduard would make all 2D flat. I did not like this effect.

I checked fitting for a wing and fuselage - no problem here. I plan to glue cockpit to one side only. This way I will not generate any stress on the fuselage and hopefully prevent any missfit on W-F area.

Mark,

I found this over at Wings Palette:

3./StG 2

The caption states that this aircraft was shot down on August 10th over Sussex in the BoB.

I took a photo of my reference (the Censored [censored] scanner didn't want to co-operate!) book, here are the pages with BoB aircraft:

The whole BoB really started out with the Stuka's attacking the channel shipping. I know from experience it is hard to find alot of refernce photos for the Ju 87's If you could find out what units were stationed on the French coast in the summer of 1940 that might help you decide. I had a real tough time trying to find detail interior shots when I build my 1/24 Airfix Ju 87. It seems like everyone only wants to make markings for Rudel's planes and not much else.

Hmmm this is as close as I think you can get. Both the sets are in stock here and cost $8 a set. I included the units I know of that were in BOB. I believe you could get a good set of accurate BOB markings from these sets. Hope it helps. Here is the store and reviews.

OK guys, this is where I need your help...I've been all over google researching what Stuka units participated in BOB, but I can't figure out or find pictures of specific markings from those groups.  And there aren't any real (as far as I can find) Stuka aces that participated in the BOB...Squadron.com sells Stuka decals for the JU 87B but I'm unsure if they belong to those participating units!!  If I can get  definite markings for a Stuka, I could always use dry transfers to make it accurate.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Wow guys, there has been some serious quality being shown from you lot

Stan, that is just gorgeous fella. Such a sweet paintjob. Send it to FSM. If they dont publish it they are just wrong.

Aaron Frank Mike, theres some awesome work going on with you lot.

Im in the build full time now ish. My plan was to do my old revel He111 but on getting it out of the box, i changed my mind. Im sure theres modellers out there who would have had a crack at it. Not me. Raised panel lines, Flash city and Clear plastic as thick as concrete. The funny thing is ive started on the resin cockpit for it. It was for a hasa He111 and i was going to convert it to fit. So now, tommorow anyway, i can get a Hasa 111 from my LHS. Also im after a different 109. The one i have is a bulgarian 'E' from Hasa, so ill get a Tamiya BoB one at the same time. Heres the resin stuff sprayed RLM02.

Mike, that is an unusaul emblem that I have not seen before either.  I doubt I have it in my stash but I'll take a look tonight when I get home from work.

Aaron, I used to supervise a landscaping crew for a property management company.  Can't tell you how many mowers the crew went through in similar incidents.

Mike (Ruddratt), renovations and re-decorating are the norm around my house.  I try not to let it interfere with my hobby but it does. Sad [:(]  On the positive side though I finally progressed to the point where my son's bedroom is out of the den and I've been able to set up my display case and model bench in there! Dave, it's for 8./KG 77.  It's a decorative white shield, I've never seen it before (next to the upper "G's").

Techmod just released a new sheet for the Do 17 though, it's got a nice bird from KG 76 on it, just placed my order with GM so hopefully I'll have it by the end of the week.

Frank and Aaron- Looking good!

Quick update on my Dornier, ruined one of the unit emblems during the decalling process, bonehead move on my part. Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid] The decal sheet I'm using is long OOP so looks like 3Z+GS will go by the wayside, I'm researching alternate schemes right now.  KG 2,3, 76, and 77 all operated 17's during the BoB so I'm sure I can find something.

Thanks everyone for the comments, made my day. Approve [^]

Aaron- Bummer about working all weekend, and your lawnmower woes.  But this Dornier, beautiful work!  You are really going to town on this baby, can't wait to see more pics.  Especially some looking through the glass at the crew in action.  WOOHOO!!! Big Smile [:D]

Wow Frank that is real fantastic progress. That Spit belongs in a painting for sure! The Me-109 is coming along quickly and also looks as if it will be a looker. Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks everyone  for the help and advice on the colors. I have often heard much discussion but am glad you all gave me a consensus about the color contrast. I  have the model master enamels for all the correct RLM colors and will probablly go with them. I used Floquil RLM 02 that I had in the stocks. Really nice paint but getting harder to find. Make a Toast [#toast]

We be getting a good show of Aircraft here fellows! July has  only just begun and things are shaping up great in this GB! Party [party] I managed to work every single day of the weekend which makes for a good paycheck but poor modeling.Boohoo [BH] I have managed to squeeze in the crew and close her up. My workbench is now totally trashed. The only clean thing on it is my model. After all the filling and sanding and resanding extc.... I used a spray can of Mr Surfacer 1000 to prime the whole shabang. I am really happy with the results. Smooth finish all ready to start painting at last! Er at least as soon as I clean up the area a bit and put my compressor together.Whistling [:-^]

Thumbs Up [tup] Now don't think I had no fun on my weekend. My son managed to run over a manhole cover in my yard with the lawnmower. Completely bent the shaft and cracked the engine housing. Sign - Oops [#oops] Good thing I had the overtime because a new mower cost me $320 bucks plus $8 to fill up the mowers gas can wow! Black Eye [B)] Oh well easy come easy go. Keep it up fellows!!! Off to work.... again.....Sigh [sigh]

Remodeling our garage has taken up most of my free time so it's going to be a while before I have any progress to post, but just keep 'em coming you guys! This GB is off to a great start thanks to you! Thumbs Up [tup]
